30 months to no debt - an Optimistic Journey

Month 24 day 10.
Hello dotty and pat, nice to see you both, and I am sorry Pat that you are finished in your temp role, hope you get something to at least tide you over. I am working at AMEX- so far I have paid 80 pounds. Under 200 pounds to go now. I am going to get it gone. Done and on to the next one!
The house is continuing with a clean up exercise and a repaint - patch up painting plan. The carpet is ordered, and paid for and the fitting date is 20th February. Fits in with my leave and also fits in with my timeline.
The credit card has taken a hit but as previously stated the empty house is the most expensive debt.
I have also mentioned on facebook how I was about to have a let ready. I received an immediate private message. The interested party is wanting a look round and all sounds good!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I had to read your post twice before I realised you meant you were working at reducing your AMEX bill.
At first, I thought you were WORKING at AMEX and that you had to pay them for the privalage.Never Knowingly Understood.

Month 24 day 11 Oh dear, my english is getting worse. I think its because my brain isnt fully engaged half the time!!.
Last night I went to work on the house for an hour. I was waiting for the carpet estimator man. The carpet has been paid for and the only change would be to the fitting, and this is 6 pounds less than we expected. I did some more prep work on the bannister and also did a general tidy up - it all helps. Not there tonight or tomorrow, its my jobs at home night tonight and dog training - same tomorrow. Some ebay to post and some to package later. Also have 17 pounds worth of pending sales and a pile of stuff to list, just waiting for the next free listing day to come along. No additional payments to Amex today as we needed some new leads for phone chargers.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Ive set up a direct debit for the minimum payment for vanquis. I will be cutting the card up. I wont be using it again, its served its purpose and just needs to be repaid.
I have to get the house rented first so just want to park it and make sure the boxes are ticked. Will make some extra payments now and again but for now its about keeping it tidy.Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Hi SbO, :hello:
Just found your diary!(Sorry not got leisure to read right through yet - have subscribed
).
Didn't realise you're in the landlording business too - keeping fingers crossed the lady who's got in touch wants to take your rental house, and she turns out to be a trustworthy tenant..0 -
Month 24 Day 12 Ooh hello Robin! I am indeed landlording, its prelording at present, but I am cautiously optimistic! Hopefully she will end up being marvellous, if the house is right for her that is.
I wasnt doing anything towards the house last night as I was at dog training. My dog will do anything to get her treats, or Sweeties - as the dog ladies refer to them. We had a really good time but next week it is the AGM, I think I will schedule an extra night doing work to get the house ready. I dont have time to be on any committees.
Not at the moment, anyway. It might be nice for the future, but I at the moment I am more than happy to be part of things rather than running them.
Last night apart from the dog training I posted Ebay, managed more ironing, did lots of washing (will deffo need to put the tumble drier on tonight though as I have run out of room on radiators on hangars at windows and on the airers) and managed to get my little boy down to sleep, and he stayed there overnight! This has made a hell of a difference to my husband and I who tend to be up at least once.
Ive also paid 30.19 off Amex (Signature to be updated) and am now looking at remaining 168 pounds to find.
Looking forward to ridding myself of my next debt!Trying to shift that debt!0
