30 months to no debt - an Optimistic Journey

Month 24 Day 5 I saw that it was by invitation only last weekend. I wasnt invited but have been for this weekend!! Listings shall be created on a word document and ready to launch into the ether on Saturday and Sunday.
I have completed a timeline for getting the house ready and will be working 5 days a week on various tasks to fulfil that. Add to that my ebay - cleaning and dog training commitments andI am a busy lady. Best efforts all round to pull together but I have the feeling much of it will be on my shoulders - especially with the rabble rousing and other associated tasks!
I am going to see if we can "persuade" any volunteers to assist. I am not proud, will see if anyone has a window if they can come to help. As much tea and coffee as you can drink the opportunity to make a difference and perhaps some entertainment.
The carpenter should have finished today. I am quite excited by this, he seems really good and has been nice and positive.
Ebay news, 2 items will sell for 99p each so far. Clears the decks.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Month 24 Day 6
Carpenter isnt quite finished, hes coming back on Saturday. It looks great though. Sold a couple of small items on ebay last night, I had a couple of 99p listings ending, and one has been paid for. It will be packaged tonight. first order of business, as always as I want no nasty shocks, ebay fees paid. I have a free listing invite for today, 100 items. I will relist as many as i can and I will also need to do lots of photography to take advantage of the free listing weekend.
I imagine that wine and chocolate will get me through.
I also found a lovely bag of voiles. I imagine that someone gave them to me, hoping I would have use of them. I will measure my windows where I might use them, both at home and down the other house, and if none are required they will be sold. These are all brand new in packaging.
Also upstairs in the loft, are a load of toys which my son has outgrown or no longer plays with. I will list some of those too, and try and generate some more money. Obviously its just after Christmas so that could be a little bit hit and miss. Its worth a shot though.
Other than that we are eating one of our freezers in an attempt to spend less on the shopping over the next couple of months.

Yes I have made a project timeline which clearly shows what we need to do and when to get it ready and I am so desperate for it to be sorted. I will be so much closer to being debt free.Trying to shift that debt!0

Yes free listing today for all 10 days style actions
I got a dozen things listed last weekend, watchers on a few, one bid on one (which isn't even something of mine!lol)
Every little helps!!
We were 'eating our freezer' there for a couple weeks too, but we're back to bargain hunting and filling up again!!Hard to resist those yellow labels! :rotfl:

haha - i might resort to eating one of the freezers dfw if the octopus isnt as tasty as some have led me to beleive... I know I love a bargain HAW thats the thing walking past the cheap meat...
Re starting my spending diary, I am going to scrimp along as best I can. The pennies need to be bagged up and paid in and the debts need to be banished. The next debt on my hitlist is Amex. I only have to find 276 pounds and its gone. It will be relegated to history. The cards which are propping me up during sorting the house are then getting repaid. I realised my most expensive debt wasnt the card with the highest interest it was that house.
it cost us: Mortgage 260
Council tax 169
and gas and electric, minimum standing charge but typically 20 a month
thats 570 pounds we are paying out. Thats without the profit we could be in from the rent - 460 - the mortgage leaves 200. With insurance and letting agent fees, we will have at least 100 a month remaining. Add that to the bills we wouldnt need to pay, council tax and gas/electric and thats 280 pounds extra straight to debt. And we own a house as well and the mortgage is paid. No brainer.
So I will get the house done, placate myself by clearing Amex and then I am going to wallop everything into touch. I can still hit my dfd, might even exceed it....Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I am going to add amex to my sig, cos i can clear it. How long do you think I should give myself to get rid?Trying to shift that debt!0

Message from the Joiner, all done at the house. I cant wait to see the finished result. I am going to try to clear the amex in 6 weeks. This translates to about 50 pounds a week.
We will see.Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Just popped by for a catch-up. I am glad the lump was benign and you are on the mend. Good to hear that you are on the way to a new job. Since my last posting, I have lost my temp role and am ticking over on JSA.Never Knowingly Understood.
