30 months to no debt - an Optimistic Journey

Month 27, day 14
I must apologise for my protracted absence. Ive not checked in for big payday (they got it wrong and still owe me money) Majorca news – (one of my sister in laws is on the list of people to avoid) and garden news (first potatoes are up and there are also some odd green tomato type things on them which I am keeping as they are meant to be seeds. I am going to have to add up my payments etc and sort that out.
DH and I decided not to pay off Vanquis first, but we did pay a healthy chunk off it. Instead we are concentrating on the other house.
It costs us mortgage – 250 a month - council tax – 141 a month and water rates 30 pounds a month. Gas and electric currently at 20 pounds a month.
If we rent it out, it will mean the mortgage is covered and we will be 50 pounds to the good and we wont have to pay out 200 odd pounds.
Back to being good again, ebay is listed and I am back to austerity.
Updating sig and then I will pop on the other diaries.Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Month 27, day 15. Today I am paying in the bank some loose change and will be paying the amazing total of £6 off things.
Ive a couple of ebay items ending and will have some pennies off those, better than nothing. Due to some issues with the courier I ended up with a worse seller rating so I will be posting in an amazing way, the instant things are paid for and via a trusted carrier. Lets get that banged back to rights.
As for Majorca - the villa and the weather were exceptional and we were all in together - 5 bedrooms and four bathrooms. It was lovely. Especially as we had our own bathroom
The only blot on the landscape was one of my sister in laws. She is pleasant enough generally but has been pampered as a child and is attention hungry. Last year I got her a job at my office and she refused a permanant contract and still works as agency - because the hours were not core hours - despite the fact that once she had aquired the contract she could move to core hours. (bear in mind she used to work unsocial hours before I got her the job) and I do admit the griping about the office gets to me as they have been really good to her despite a developing poor attendance record.
She has been visiting the gp and hospital for what I think is a depressive illness, although she insists its physical. She has had scans both privately and on the NHS and the resultant (non) diagnosis is fibromylagia. I say non diagnosis, purely because they have ruled out everything else.
The reason I think its mainly depressive, is because every time she got slightly miffed about anything, the symptoms would manifest.
A daily occurance would be her being upset and annoyed with life or my BIL - She would lie in bed until gone lunchtime - surface and then have a period of calm. we would wait for the occurance. A prime example was during mini golf. She played every hole and only suffered an attack when a cocktail she wanted wasnt on the cocktail menu afterwards. I am finding it manipulative and damaging and isnt a good role model for behaviour for the kids.
She needs help and not to be told to be in a wheelchair when she cant walk. It is plainly not a purely degenerative illness, its exacerbated by her moods and it is damaging her and others around her as she is becoming less and less able.
I feel sorry for her, but at the moment and after a week of shenanigans, I just want to avoid her.
Other news, nursery acceptance letter has been sent and the builder is at work at the other house.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
to Majorca! Sounds fab!!
Butto your SIL! I get what you're saying about symptoms only occurring somewhat conveniently for her. Should really be knocked on the head and I can understand why you'd prefer to avoid her. And it's really not a good example for the kids either
Hope you get your ebay ratings back up again. And :j to the builder!!
Have a good dayWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Cheers - its really draining to be a part of something so negative and being unable to speak up as it was keeping the peace for the mother in law.Trying to shift that debt!0
