I think she really needs to take this and run for the hills.
Agree. Take it and run. Everything else is wasted energy. Time to move on.0 -
The £250 is still them trying it on. They should give a full refund of the price paid with no 'fees'.rigsby1967 wrote: »She's accepting it as they are not and will not stand down about the £250, even when i said about trading standards and phoned them while i was thier they were not at all bothered and said TS would also say £250 is normal.

You need to log a formal complaint with VOSA and also get TS involved. Who is the garage involved?0 -
Am i allwoed to say the name of the garage?
It's the Car trade centre in Dunstable.
Hope i don't get into trouble for saying this.Mortgage Jan 2007, 60000

What I don't understand is that they have newer Fiesta's for less than £2k. Unless it was either an RS or XR model.
I was expecting the garage to be a small village kind not one on this scale. I'd stick to my guns and get the FULL amount back. They won't go hungry over it ....0 -
No the owner wouldn't go hungry, should see the size of the g1t.
Sorry not very constructive comment.Mortgage Jan 2007, 60000

For what its worth I would say get the £1750 back, in cash, THEN appeal the MOT and tell VOSA where the car is then !!
Best of several worlds:
Daughter gets most of money back
Daughter (hopefully) has learnt a hard but not life changing expensive lesson
VOSA investigate MOT and issuer hopefully suffers!
EDIT - just seen the picture. 1st response - hope she was insured for non -standard wheels!0 -
