I hate my cat :(

He might be a pain but he is a cutie
Try getting a box for mail to fall into that you attach to the door? Or an external postbox. We had to do that as the crazy collie shreds the mail, lol.

One of my cats causes me a lot of stress, he has sprayed on and off for years, no idea what caused it but think a lot of it is now just a really bad habit. I have him on zyklene tablets for stress, a tablet for cysititis now and again and have just recently tried flower remedies. If you put a post on the cat chat feline forum you might be lucky enough for one of their cat behaviourists to help you out.0

Have you considered asking your Vet for a recommendation of a good pet behaviour therapist?
I was never a believer in them but every month in "Your Cat" I am really impressed with the guy that does it in the magazine.0 -
I don't mind him fetching my post really lol - he chews up bills
Barely saw him today and Ive been in the house all day, might be because he found a patch of catnip and has been chilling out all day hahaha. Brilliant!0 -
You know what its almost like he sensed how unhappy I was feeling with him because hes been nothing but lovely the past few days, even came for a snooze with his head on the pillow next to me (that will not be a frequent occurance) nothing worse than waking up in the night with cat hair in your mouth and nose!0

They will sense your mood/emotions and they will also spray/pee if they're upset/stressed.
Sounds like you have diagnosed your own problem.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -
I may have stupidly missed it, but did you say whether he'd been neutered or not?0

I have 3 cats and one hates the other and has shown his disdain by peeing (spraying) all over the house. It's brought me to tears at times (not to mention hours of scrubbing and paranoia about the smell!) feliway didn't work on him but made my other cat mega happy - I now buy zylkene which is a natural stress reliever and sprinkle it on his food. Not totally broken the habit as yet but definitely calmer and less pee! Also tried every remedy under the sun (vinegar, bicarbonate, lemon, special pet store bought sprays) and nothing worked to get rid of the pong. Vet recommended biological washing powder and/ or febreeze - anything with enzymes to break it down and that seems to work. Just DON'T use bleach or disinfectant - ammonia makes them pee more!!!0

rubbing alchohol used on car body work (aka surgical spirit) is great at breaking down ammonia smell be sure test patch as it can lead to bleaching of some meterials. wont be on the shelf at a pharmecy but will stock it behind the shelf on a request to purchase only.0
