I hate my cat :(

This sounds really bad - but it's true. I've come to hate one particular cat of mine (I have 3).

He's just over 1 - so I understand he is still young but he causes me nothing but stress. I just had to take my oldest female cat to the vets as yet again he attacked her and left big welts in her head  - literally 10minutes ago he brazenly just walked behind the TV and squatted and starting weeing whilst staring at me - the litter trays were cleaned about 20 minutes ago so it wasn't because they were dirty. He's always had a habit of peeing in corners, he peed on my daughters Xmas presents, on my letters at the front door etc.

I've always disliked people who take on pets and then get rid of them but as time goes by I think I'm debating becoming one of these people. Im so paranoid my house mings of cat pee, if he's went and peed on my clean clothes/a jacket etc, that I'll come home and Clio has been hiding in the wardrobe all day to get away from him, he's such a bully.

He gets on well with my other male cat they always play fight, but my female cat doesn't want bothered and she is tiny, whilst he is fat and aggressive. He is constantly trying to sneak into the kitchen and steal food, I find him eating stupid items around the house, earbuds, toilet roll, crisp packets - just why?! There is ALWAYS food left down, and it's not like he is malnourished. He's been neutered.

He's ripped up my carpets at the doors, took wallpaper down in my kitchen, he is a nightmare.

I just need to vent - he is the biggest stress in my home - I don't even want to go buy new carpets or decorate cause he's just gonna pizz all over them or stick his nails in them :(

I suspect it's a territorial issue. Do you watch My Cat From Hell? Some good tips on there.

oh dear, I have the same opinion that people should not take on animals if they are not prepared to keep them, but your situation does sound desperate and no one would judge you if you did get rid. Maybe he would be happier in a home where he was the only cat.

It sounds a territorial thing. Have you tried Feliway? they do a plug in diffuser which I have used in the past and it has worked.

    Oh dear!
Did you forget the rules: No water, no food after midnight , and no bright lights? You've got a gremlin.
Perhaps you could get this book from the library.
Cats Behaving Badly parts One and Two.
    Google: [Cat Pica]
Have you tried Feliway? It helped my monster chill into a sweetie.
I hope he grows out of it. In 10 years time he might be your favourite!

Feliways definitely worth a go - I used it and had great results. Also ask you vet about zylkene, it's kinda like anti-anxiety medication for animals. I don't know about using it long term but if you can chill him out long enough to break some of his bad habits it might help.

I've had some pretty bad issues with one of my cats (he's a neurotic, possessive, territorial little !!!!!!) but after trying a whole load of different things he's finally starting to chill out a bit. He doesn't sound half as bad as your wee man though, and I'm really sorry you're having to deal with this :(

Forgot to say that I found a product called Urine-off to be really good for cleaning cat pee. It breaks down the enzymes so when you clean up the pee the cats don't smell it anymore and don't think associate the area with going to the toilet. I got on amazon for about a tenner I think, but it's lasted ages and was worth the money.

Yeah I've bought that urine off before - the problem is, until I catch him in the act - I can't predict where he is pee'ing 100% - I did wonder why the other cats kept sniffing down the back of the TV - now I know why *rolls eyes* I washed the entire area with bacterial washing powder - and that does stop him - until he finds another area to toilet :-/

Nah he doesn't hate me (would be easier to get rid of him if he did!) He is always walking around crying checking the rooms for me, wants to sleep on my pillow next to me, crys when Im in the bathroom as he wants to come in the bath with me ( yes really!!)

He does have good points :rotfl: He's literally just came and sat on my lap and tried to start licking my armpits the little grot lol

I will definatley get some feliway and see if it mellows him out a bit - I really don't want to rehome him unless I 100% have too - He totally needs a diet though, he resembles some form of blimp in certain angles.

I do think its a terriotorial/dominance thing - but it's so strange as one minute he'll make my female cat bleed and the next he flops himself next to her and steals her body heat to snooze.

I must admit, I do find it hillarious that he tries to copy my other male cat, whos very long and lean - he can open the bathroom door handle, and Dexter tries to copy but being vertically challanged and a lard bum, he just kinda faceplants himself off the door - eejit :rotfl:

My boy cats really bad with the whole territorial thing - the final straw was when he peed on the ex's face when we were sleeping (hence him being an ex, he didn't take it well). I spoke to my vet who recommended the feliway and zylkene and also suggested things like squirting him with a water pistol when he tried shagging me and attacking visitors. He's certainly no angel but he's slowly getting better and I wouldn't be without the little !!!!!bag for anything :D

Remember your wee boys still a teenager in cat years so he'll maybe get better just with age - and if not there's always the option to buy a super-soaker :rotfl:
