We used PPD to send a folding bike, well packaged in a large box, to Italy.
The DHL pick-up and delivery went smoothly, but when we got to Italy we found the box had been crushed on one corner, probably by being dropped (didn't realise 'pay per drop' was to be taken literally!), and the bike had £50 worth of damage.
When we got back to England we rang PPD to claim on the insurance we'd paid extra for and e-mailed photos of the damage. They eventually, after more phonecalls, said a cheque was going in the post.
Several phonecalls, several promises and over six months later the cheque arrived.0 -
I have sent 100's of items with them, and 99% of the time there isnt a problem.
However, when something does go wrong, dont expect any assistance at all, or not immediately anyway.
It is becoming apparent though, that there are alot of problems starting to occur now.
I am just wondeing whether E bay themselves might take some action, or failing that DHL, who they use to send the items.10 1p's are better than no 10p's !!!

Try Parcelwizards on eBay or www.Parcelwizards.co.uk

I have uses payperdrop on price alone for about a year. Works fine most of the time but again if it goes wrong I promise that you will turn grey trying to make contact with a human being that either answers the phone or sends an email reply that makes sense............they are appalling and clearly their business model is to sell as many courier service as possible with the least investment in customer service, if any at all. Their staff dont care and are arrogant beyond belief. I had a failed collection and sent a series of 16 emails. They replied to about half of them usually asking for more information which was actually contained further down in the email history. I ended up having to claim my money back through Paypal and they didnt even respond to that.
If you can risk being in all day, and maybe 2 or 3 days, and like typing copious emails or queuing on an 0870 phone line then give them a go!0 -
i am curious ... only read about them here... after searching for a discount code for Parcel2Go (P2G) ...
PPD seem well cheap!! ... with P2G I would have to ask for 2 packages to be sent (65cm x 65cm x 27cm = 1 parcel, or 65 x 65 x 55cm = 2 parcels)
and difference between PPD and P2G is around £10.
Items worth £150! ..tyres!
Best to go with P2G, I suppose??0 -

Hi, I've used all of the cheap booking agents on ebay for one thing or another and they all have their strengths and weakness.
Payperdrop have an online live chat customer service portal that is available from their ebay shop. I get an instant response from that 9 times out of 10, not only that the staff I deal with in the live chat have been far from arrogant and unhelpful, in fact accommodating and very helpful is how I would refer to them. Also it's really DHL who you are actually using so any problems with damaged good is NOT payperdrops fault. The important thing to remember here is it's £4.99 !!!!!!! People need to stop moaning and enjoy the value that payperdrop offer, if you want perfect customer service etc etc, try booking the parcel yourself online with any of the couriers or parcelforce, you will get two surprises, one is the price and 2 is the fact that you will probably need an account before you can book it (parcelforce excluded). So its less hassle and it costs LOADS less, so what if there is the occasional problem, it is more than worth it for the price saving.
Parcelwizards - Like has been said before, they started off well, but then I guess they got a little bit too busy for their own good, most times the system has worked well, but if it doesn't there is NO live support of any description and they have replied to about 1 in 6 emails that I have sent, BUT just like payperdrop they are cheap. However unlike payperdrop they cannot be contacted in a "live" "instant" manner. I have also had errors on their website when trying to book parcels that leave you with no idea if the parcel was "booked" or not, then no reply to emails to say if they were or weren't!.
Parcelworks - Only used them once and it all went swimmingly so I cant really comment on their customer service. But I have to say that their booking system is DIRE compared to the two above (apart from when parcelwizards website throws a wobbly), its all done manually at your end by sending emails with info for the pick up, drop off etc etc, it does not feel as smooth as payperdrop.
Overall the service that you get is similar, our local DHL guy is really nice and helpful, nice clean new van and he appears to take care with the parcels (Payperdrop use dhl) however our local parcelforce guy looks like a the guitarist from Blink 182 and smells (literally) and is rude and his vehicle looks like a shed, is old and he throws the parcels on the van, in full view of the customer (so what happens when you can't see them?) and never has paperwork with him (parcelwizards & parcelworks use parcelforce)
Phew! hope that might help or made sense (btw I have no connection with payperdrop, I just like telling it how it is)0 -
Like je, I use payperdrop. Thus far, I've had no problems at all. What'll happen when something goes awry is probably another matter, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
I'd hazard a guess that the service you get from them depends, in the main, on the DHL depot closest to you, and the driver that's on your route.
The driver I get is great, and doesn't even need me to be here when he collects. We have agreed where I'll leave the parcels if I'm not in when he calls, and where he'll leave the collection notes for me. This also works for the few deliveries they make to me.
The depot has called me before to query addresses or collection times, and the customer services contact there is pro-active rather than reactive. I'm sure a less communicative depot wouldn't be as good, and I'd probably have less positive things to say because of it.
Lastly, the driver has just collected from me, and informed me he's in court next week pleading to keep his license after two more speeding charges.
Nooooooooooooooooooooo.
BaffExclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0
