Do any of you people know if you can order a pickup from someone for delivery to me. A few things on eBay take my fancy but postage far to high!

Like jake jake says this is up to the seller and I can't see anyone really agreeing unless they are desperate for a sale.

Some of my items can go cheaper using a courier but I can't be in all day to wait for collection so I have to use Royal mail as I can just drop it in on my way out. There are very few people who stay in day after day, even 'stay at home mothers' have school runs so couldn't guarantee to be available for your courier.

As I have said on another thread, the first company that can provide timed slots, like supermarket shopping drops, will get a lot of business from people like me!

  • Couriers are also good for a lot of the pick up only items. A lot of sellers dont know about them, so say they have something thats 25kg, they may say its to heavy to post so they put it for pick up. Ask them to box it up (offer money for box if need be) and offer collection on a day to suit them and you get a bargain!

There was another seller on Ebay offering a DHL 30Kg 1-2 day service for £4 but he says DHL have blocked his account as Payperdrop have an exclusice deal to sell on Ebay. He was reliable and may be back some time soon he says. (coreysworld)

Payperdrop however provide a great service for £4.99 http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ50QQsassZpayperdropQ5fuk

Have used them for 15 parcels, don't know how they do it for the money.

Yeah, this wasn't a problem with the seller we agreed that the courier pick goodies up from her works address :D

Just tried to use Payperdrop for the first time after reading about them.

Scheduled a pick up for the next day for the 15th October (the night before). Courier did a no-show. Was promised that a courier would be rescheduled for the next day (today). I also booked another pick-up with them like the fool that I am for the same day to pick up, so that's 2 pickups for the same day.

Waited in again all day today and again, another no show. Nothing's been replied to so far by email and ringing just after 5pm resulted in a 'Sorry, our offices are closed.' message via their expensive 0871 contact number.

These guys are a bunch of cowboys and I'd recommend you all to stay away.

LOL a buyer arranged a PPD DHL courior to collect a parcel from me Friday and they were a no show. She complained Sunday night and they replied straight after saying they would arrange collection for Monday. They arrived Monday afternoon.

I just got a reply from them after telling them to forget about their planned 3rd attempt for pickup. (I've actually planned to be out tomorrow prior to this fiasco).
Apologies as regards the 2 failed collections already.

I am writing to advise that we do not offer refunds. However, we can give you 2 free credits for future collections.

As regard a refund also, if you go to your paypal account you can dispute this.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Regards.

    Yours sincerely
'We do not offer refunds'?!? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

As I say, stay away from these bunch of cowboys.

PPD seems to be really struggling at the moment, in the early days things were very smooth. Now more recently, regular missed collections, with various or no reason given. When you get the email saying your collection has been booked don't take it literally, read it more like your collection is now in our system, whether it reaches dhl's system is another matter! If you do have a missed collection it is a right royal pain in the proverbial as even if you wait in the next day, they still might not come! However they do get back to you via email pretty quick, if you have a few days off and want something to keep you occupied why not book a parcel in with them.

Sounds much like my first experience with them, 2 failed pickups and counting, IF they make it 3 I'm gonna start kicking off! I thought £4.99 was too good to be true!
