Hope you are snoring gently, rather than still awake at this time. (Greying then remembers you are supposed to be going to work, so wake up!)
Gorgeous pics - simply gorgeous.
I really don't think Martin will be cross about a £10 *splurge* <--- irony intended - on wedding flowers. I think he would be very proud of the efforts of *clan McB* for the beauty that they all brought to the proceedings. The roses were a splendid addition, but then your bouquet and other flower berry ideas were already sumptuous. Well done EH too for capturing the essence of the day
Hope you have a good day at work, down to earth with a bump eh? Oh, that reminds me, I spotted something on Rhonda Jean's blog that I thought would interest you - I think it is called a 'flick book' or something - it is to do with using recycled objects in your 'backyard', some of the ideas you'll know of. But the *welly-dawgs*? Not seen them before (quite a few 'pages' along in the 'book'). Link HERE
Have a good day.
Greying
Hey greying thanks for the get up nudge - man I needed it today!
I think that a wee indulgence is allowed - funny how you get so focussed on budget that you don't let yourself have fun - thankfully WIK sorted me out.
I love the dawg boots I must find the sheep telephone flock to show you
Clan McB were utterly epic. I am very proud to be the head of my own clan. Mr B is not converting but is an honorary member.
I hear there's plans for a clan gathering next year in the same luxurious hostel - I'm on cooking duty.

It looked a magical day for you all - well done for all that budgeting and enjoy your new life together!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hey sparkles thank you!
It was awesome and making a giant game of sticking to budgets and doing it our own way was epic.
We've had a few digs about having a giant home made pavlova for a wedding cake (16 free eggs) on a borrowed plate but it was lovely and very us.
New life starts now I guess need a new focus to clear the remaining debts and get ourselves a house. We've finally got a location so the house hunting can begin. Mr Pips hasn't sold his flat yet so that's on the cards too but it needs a bit of work yet.
Fun and games.
Hope you're good too.
Todays plan is to work/walk/pop in a see a chum if that works.

You're cured of your food shopping addiction? How did that happen? Tell, do!
And now there's house shoppingI hope we get some linkies of potentials, or the equivalent of potentials (one of them might be your RL house, after all, don't want to throw too much onto the web!).
Absolutely love the sound of a pavlova as a wedding cake, wonderful stuffI did a huge shop, and was going to add some marzipan, building up to the C-time, but you know what, I have sugar, I have ground almonds, I can make it myself! I'll let you know how it goes
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hey KC - we bought all the wedding food (£551) fresh so that if there was any left over then we could freeze it so everything had to be made fresh on the two days before. That was a LOT of shopping and a lot of last minute cooking, but the most sustainable/cheapest way to do it. So anything that wasn't home grown was purchased those couple days before. That way we had no waste as any wee bits left over were bagged and frozen up once distributed.
Thankfully the McB clan are a lot who scrub up quickly and aren't afraid of a bit of graft.
So I'm a bit food shopped/comparisoned out. Who'd have guessed siansbugs could have had chicken wing/bits at over £1 kg cheaper than the other big supermarkets. Mr M cheaper for cheese, Mr A cheaper for meats.......it was a fair eyeopener! If a bit exhausting. We also got a squad of reduced bread from Mr T at 20p a loaf for the feast - canny stickered shopping saved us a fortune but meant we had to be very last minute on it all!
House shopping will be put online too there will be beaches near by and possibly my favourite town with the awesome charity shops too.
And yay to making marzipan yourself well done you - not something I'd ever had a go at but I'm sure it will be fabby.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Happy One Week AnniversaryMr & Mrs McB-Flowers-StripesHope you are well Pippi. The budgeting and execution of the wedding plans were exemplary and I'm glad that you are going to 'yack' on about it forever and a day - I for one love hearing about it and I still feel that the primary thing that clearly exuded from the photos was joy and happiness. No amount of money can buy that, my friendOh, and just to be the resident smarty-pants. I have made my own almond paste (marzipan) many, many moons ago, when I was a keen young thing
I would say it gets very sticky with the egg whites/icing sugar, there is no way on this earth that it is cheaper than wandering into the supermercado and buying a block of the stuff. But does it taste better? hull yep! Thankfully we no longer go the 'iced cake' route at chrimbobs. I for one am grateful, DP is happy as long as we have some sort of cake to nibble on. Oh, and just for the record, DP has actually made a chrimbo cake - I have never PMSL so much watching someone trying to apply 'just add water' packet icing :rotfl:

Thank you Greying I'm home alone (with you lovely lot) and he's 'sooth' - so I do appreciate it - bit sad really but work to do and pennies to save, so its practical but today it does suck.
Yacking I am afraid I will do to all and sundry what on earth has got into me! -and you're right what fun - we had hoodies, jeans, kilts and posh wedding hats, bobble hats, hair cuts and non hair cuts, mismatching galore and it was all the more lovely because folks actually did just do what they wanted.
My new one new thing was the poundworld shop (what a place) umberella. (£1) I was so chuffed it rained, I've not used an umberella in about 100 years and always wanted a see through one, its a diva though - featured highly in all photos. However, the young man who helpfully 'took' it from the forest and let the bride have a free shower on the tramp back...............:D all the funnier.
I'm sorry but cakes in general and Christmas cake in particular are my idea of torture. But I do appreciate a good 'icing+water' stand back and watch incident as much as the next lady.
Goodluck with the marzipan KC sounds like it will be yummy - and if anyone can do it you can too!
