Pippi, I think you can buy huge blocks of cheese direct from the cheese factory at Hatston if its local stuff youre looking for. Might be worth asking a price ?

    Thanks for the reminder Mara!

I'll add that to my list and make sure I'm off there today too

:D - it was the 'tother twa cheeses I was after too which are also most excellent :)

Although I hear one of them is a bit hard to get atm

So the bank forgot to process my wages cheque. How exciting is that.

    Bah!

    On the positive

    - fish ordered/cheese ordered

    - 4.5 miles walked today so far

    On the whole quite positive.

And we had Pizza rice for tea ;) my favourite!

    Wedding update

(for me just as much as anything else so I'm sorry if its dull)

    3fa42eee-b22c-4a1f-bcb1-bd469b3b6a8b.jpg

Confetti being bagged up in recycled envelopes _ thanks to Wik and her fabulous flower drying skills. We'll have Granny 'with us' on the day if not in person as all the petals are from her gorgeous garden.

    Fabulous and Free Free Free

Mr F is seeing the band tonight and formalising the order for the evening with both bands (his and the paid band). Well done him. He's paying the deposit (£100 and the balance £800 on the day) - this is our biggest expense but he's such a music loving chap - I think that's quite nice treat for him. Yup we could have had free music - but this feels right. And, we do have a budget so best spend it on the things that make us smile.

DD has found some fabulous strappy silver sandals for £5 in charity shop. Well done DD - the lasses are wearing red to match the autumn berries. (and probably my face)

I used Mr F's cc and ordered the fish/cheese/oatcakes at a really lovely price and its all being sorted for us to pick up at the weekend. Well done that Jolly fish man.

I got a recycled cupcake holder at the carbooty for a quid.

Napkins nicely folded :) thanks GP :) x

I've spoken at length to the tame chef (free minutes) and we've sorted a shopping list for the rest which I'm currently 'moneysupermarketing' to find the best deals.

MOH has sorted the free slates with little felt feet on for the tables and strung and written the 'The Wedding
    >' slate off cuts for the forest and venue. Clever girl and hubby. Free free free.

She has also started cooking the 'stovies' for supper break. Made with love. Bless her.

Berries are being tagged for bagging later from varous gardens for decorations :) very sneaky and free. Midnight raids on gardens may yet be in order.

Wellyboots are being bought/borrowed (?stolen? I'm not sure) I have no issue with Dora the explorer wellyboots with a nice frock (flowergirl) - :)

Bartered for a tonne of eggs for the wedding cake (HM pavlova) with some garden design later next year for a chum with hens.

Granny has offered to treat the girls hair for me. Box ticked, expense off my spreadsheet. YAY

All evites and phone calls/fb updates out - so far the main 'paperless' bit is (fingers crossed) working.

We're still just squeakily under budget at £2764*/3000

*if the food comes in bang on budget (£500) the fish will take a big chunk of this but that's grand we like fish that's why we're treating ourselves. £5/head sounds a bit stingy but that's not the fizz or anything and it will be gorgeous.

Hey we've got 13 or so days yet - plenty of time........

  • Evening!
Behind as usual... Thanks for the wedding woodland link, I was tickled to find you on the same page as the rooting compound! Also loved the wedding woodland photo on the blog, I'm sure I recognize those two trees! I hope your day turns out to be as glorious as in that photo.

I have put a few quid in the wedding pot, just a little something. Unfortunately I didn't realise until it was too late that the 'instructions for delivery' box may have been where we were intended to write a little message! Whoops, now you'll get at least one anonymous gift, sorry!

Loved the story of the 'accidental free meal'! As for the bread-maker, I agree (belatedly) that you absolutely must have it. After all if it turns out you don't get on, you can sell it for a few squid as almost new to someone who really wants one and make a little bit of pocket money as well as making someone really happy for having got such a bargain!

My latest money-saving plan; I have just bought a tube of black all-purpose silicone sealant from a large DIY store which I plan to use to glue the soles on my boots! Will let you know if it works. I did the same years ago for some shoes with detached soles and they lasted about another 5 years, so it was well worth it and far cheaper than a 'proper' repair. Also waterproof of course.

All the wedding planning sounds most organized; very impressed!
  • Trog love the latest money saving experiment!

If I'm really honest I don't feel very organised. I'm sure there's a tonne to do and I've just not thought of it.

But the vows are done :)

Thanks about the BM - I've yet to use it (no yeast) but I'll have a play when I'm back!

Trog its really sweet of you to pop something into the wedding woodland - you've already put a lovely Walnut in there :) Thank you - I was quite tickled to be beside the rooting hormone too.

    :)

You'll probably recognise the woodland - we go there a lot. The start of the route to the Highlands in October is just utterly gorgeous with all those trees.

    Big tree county indeed!

    :) thanks again lovely x

  • Bleary here - stayed up far too later than I should have doing who knows what.

Need to fathom a list - saw DD briefly before she skidaddled to the learning factory.

Also need to investigate banks and check that whilst my errant wages are NOW clearing that there aren't any pesky things to come off that might put me over my limit.

    Coffee and list time.

  • So banks done
Three loads of washing done and hung up indoors - fourth a chugging
    Dogs first walk done
Cuppy eggs for brekkie done :)
    Tidied up both bathrooms
Done my hair (11 days is the perfect amount of time for it to settle and look ok-ish) I must cut it later.
OH lent me money to cover dd's (I know the bank said they will sort it but lets be honest - they put my cheque in a drawer for a week)

    Need to do
    Sort out work for today
    Take some lunch from cupboard
    Sort out car
Continue to look for very pesky credit card
Send a dear chum a birthday card
    Meeting this afternoon
    Mutts to walk again
    Meeting tonight with a chum
Voucher to take into town and see if I can find anything nice with

New pedometer seems to be working (app on phone) OK so the phone will lose battery quicker but saves having amillion bits in my pockets.

Steps today so far 6437 :)

Yesterday I did 18435 so I'm hoping we can get up there - got a long walk with mutts planned today as the weathers a bit less soggy.

Must write a wedding to do list too.

Waves thanks for popping in and later!

  • Hey up me ducks :)

    A productive day after all.

All the above done - for once :)

We had cuppy eggs for tea whilst the Peedie lass (who's bigger than her ma ate the last of the pizza rice - we had a bit of a bitza night which is like dear greyings Buddha bowls but not as snazzy.

Off to help a chum set up a blog and get her started - which was nice - she's documenting her life after a big birthday - why not I say.

Still to walk the doggles - the pedometer says 17273 so lets get that over 18k tonight I think

Mr Me is over the sea at the ferry port - waiting to come over in the morning - rather him than me its a bit choppy out there.

    Minimal spends on groceries
    Dog food
    Fabric softener
Prawns (lifes essentials don't you know, especially as tomorrow is a teaching night so I'm off out early and then home at sleepy o clock so a nice bit scoff is always good)

    £3.78 spent

Voucher from OH spent on a lovely long top/mini dress thing - nice and a seasalt one.

Waiting for a chum to ring about stealing (um I mean sourcing) foliage for the wellyfest. She's a good source of rowan berries and perhaps teasel.

Whilst I've my eyes on some lovely rosehips just looking bonnie at the car park at work. Be assured it might have a haircut before I leave. (The garden guru says that's OK)

    :)

    Thanks for popping in :)
