OH can't believe there is this much excitement over trees!;) (SIGH - I do apologise for his heathenism! - eight years and still not properly trained!)
Morning all - RT I'm happy you're excited!! (Takes sometime 10 years to train them btw :))

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Listen to you two - so hopeful :D:D You're both only into your first decade...... It takes a lot longer, and then you still have to be vigilant for 'slippage' :D:D:D *

Troglodyte - I think it is wonderful the 'recycling' you are getting your kids in to - both the trendy 'wombling' sack and the dollies clothing - superb :D

Lucielle - well said! If you'd of not implored Pipster to grab the bread machine with 2 hands, then I would of. What's to lose Pippi? If you find you don't get into the swing of using the bread maker, then you can always sell/give it away - with it's instruction manual - to someone that can make use of it or perhaps wants to have a go at making bread for the first time.

Pippi - I was reading Jack Monroe's blog and she has linked to a gardeners blog. I thought of you instantly, as this blogpost is so in tune with your gardening/teaching gardening/no food waste/square foot/fish box/limited space gardening ethos. I realise that the references to religion (in the comments section) won't be everyone's cuppa, but a good read none-the-less. HERE

Have a good evening - Pippi behave yourself for the girls and the dawgies :D

    Greying

    * You know I'm just joshing with the comments about chaps, right? - on the whole, they're pretty darn 'worth it'. Wouldn't be without mine :D:D

Hey there greying - I'm glad to hear it takes a while to bring on a partner - makes them so much more of an investment doesn't it! :) joshing here too :)

Lovely link - very well written thank you for sharing - whilst I'm of no fixed religion I do have a keen admiration for others enthusiasm for life in whichever way they express it. Lovely lovely writing thank you very much. Very tickled by 'onion varieties which do well in the north (Sheffield)' - which isn't me being unkind, its just so subtropical compared to us - its scary! :D

How true was that blackberry comment and cost v/s supermarket prices for 'essentials' - I'd never be able to afford the organic tatties currently gracing my plates currently grown in CA site compost (free) in tyres and beach foraged fishboxes.

Rather ironically the breadmaker is an absolute match for the kitchen - and sitting on the side introducing itself to 3 tonne of beetroot.

Beetroot being a rather aloof vegetable.

    :D

Now doing a 'greying' here - I have to inform you of the 'bonus ball' tea we scored tonight.

Whilst I put my reduced f/r chook legs in the oven with some recycled tatties and some rather yogaesk veg (bendy beyond belief) but good for roasting. I thought to myself - hmm a good thirty minutes til that's ready. Hungry, will make a wee drop soup.

One stock cube, a wee bit of smoked garlic, a tin of sweetcorn and the remainder of the recycled tatties later - half a whizz to ensure textural integrity. We had a beautiful 'chowder' which we added a dollop of the soon to be ex- cream cheese to.

So yummy and so filling was it - we didn't actually feel like tea - so tomorrows tea is already cooked.

    :) whoops.

Bonus tea's are scrummy - those often unexpected gems out of nowhere's leftovers and some tinned lovelieness that is often ready in an instant.

We often have soup for tea at least once a week - tonight's was, if I say it myself, was exceptional! Scoffed too quickly to photograph sorry - looked a bit like this with the exception of using anything to make it except tatties/corn/stock/dollop of value cream cheese. Pence (<50p for two huge portions) to make I'm suspecting.

    :)

Thanks for posting I do appreciate it.

They are indeed awesome and I'll be sad to leave but excited to be starting on our new lives together - with two fledgling uni students to annoy and a newly fledged husband.

We do have an empty house over many of the regular 'holidays' = u'd be very welcome whether we're here or not - but after July you perhaps might like to visit the central region :)

    xx

  • Morning world!

    Todays plans are as follows

    Get up
    Sort muttlets and have brekkie
Go to work and finish presentation for a conference/do a report
Hunt for thread to match bridesmaid dresses
Talk to tame chef re shopping list
Email venue with a few questions
Co-ordinate with Mr me regarding timings as he's off to speak to the band later.
Organise what veg class is doing this week and dig out some stuff for it
    More walking
    Shower
    Check banks/cc's
Give up on finding hidden CC and order a new one (just as it turns up I'm suspecting)
Think about travel for next week
Order fish from fish mongers for wellyfest and cheese if he's offering that wholesale too :)

Have a good un - crashed and burned last night after long long soggy walk.

Pippi, I think you can buy huge blocks of cheese direct from the cheese factory at Hatston if its local stuff youre looking for. Might be worth asking a price ?
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
