Hey Greying - hello and hope you're good?

    Wellyfest 13

    T - minus 25 days

    (insert scary face)

Well how's it going - hmmmm, everyone is so kind and much more organised than I am :)

    Where to start

Buffet is all planned with free cheflet (Wik) and lots of helpers and we're sorting quantities to rival a food mountain :) on a very tight budget - so foraging for free/substitutes where we can.

Fizz has made its way north and can be reported to be 'very lovely indeed' - if slightly diminished for quality control purposes. :D

Hostel for slaves (aka friends and rellies helping) is paid for and with all the kind contributions from chums is finally costing us around £100 for full use of catering facilities and hosting said slaves. :D
(they also have their own food list)

Wedding hall is lovely and still under £600 for the whole place all night :)

Band is booked and is also helping Mr F's set - so that's kind of them. Mr F's attire is being sorted too :)

Kilts are (almost) hired. I say almost, can I really trust an online deal to arrive on time. (I need to have faith)

Shoes and wellingtons are perfect and happily home - both being worn aroudn the house to 'break them in' nothing to do with the fact they're pretty. And, of course the welly's win outright as they quite rightly are the most luxurious item I'm wearing.

Frock fits - being a bit big, its happily going to fit if I continue stress eating. Sorted a method of displaying my 'tangled locks' with the aid of a pitch fork and some garden netting. :) my hair dresser for the day is free too, if slightly scared :)

Napkins - lovingly folded :) and perfect (and free :))
Home made tablet organised (free :))
Pudds sorted (free from chum :))
Cakes (yeuch) sorted from lovely neice who's ace at cupcakes!

    Hmm what else?
Confetti free and sorted, as are favours
Table decs - had a run through at the weekend and look fabulous, the cat helped (on blog). So far table decs <£25, depending on foliage acquired beforehand if we need many 'bought' flowers or not - I'm thinking not, various friends gardens are full of flowers :) what if we make it BYO (flowers).

So do need shawls still - but friend is on the case with that - she has many red shawls (borrowed)

Food lists and deals need finalised - many folks helpign with veggies etc and the local fish mannie is offering a good 'wholesale' price

:) we've so many marrows at work Im' thinking we need a marrow dish :) - or dishes made from marrows :)

    :)

To do list consists of finalising shopping list
    Chasing up fairy wings
Getting woodland place to put the button up for the wedding woodland - which is in progress.

There are probably a billion more things to do.

I probably should write a proper list eh?

  • And breathe - it will all be fine.

Oh and the vows are done :) - humanist celebrants are quite patient and lovely folks I have found :)

And she's paid too :) (from the money from the slaves for the hostel) = very mse.

  • See.....sounds super sorted to me. Can y'all not make 'hooch' from the marrows? Cannot think of a 'nice' and 'marrow' dish that appears in the same recipe :rotfl:

Sounds as though it is going to be wonderfully grand and you'll net yerself a new occupation as a 'green' organiser of wellifests for the nation..........:D

    Poor marrows.

Ill find some nice recipes :-)

Morning all need to write that list.

Keiss informed me last night my frock (rayon) is processed cellulose from trees - isn't that exciting?

I hope the trees don't mind

Zucchini muffins are nice I hear.

They are scrummy! These look good - but I've not tried that particular recipe.

Back across the pond we grew up eating zucchini bread! Click HERE for a really delicious recipe!

    Also yummy pickled!

    Happy Marrow Culling!

    Dear reader
Today if possible would it be OK to find some spare productivity and clarity and gumption.

    Mines have gone missing.

My ability to draw up a list is currently on its holidays. And we all know I don't function without a good list.

My washing machine head has returned and needs stopped.

Today I'm going to focus on what I can actually achieve - rather than trying to herd cats of a family/work nature.

    Today I will
    Check banks
    Get ready to pay rent
Organise some workbench for firewood chopping (its a good time to think whilst chopping up square (fencing post) logs)
    Check CC's
Do ONE productive thing for wellyfest - not 3 badly that dont' get completed
I will have a nice walk
I will be nice to myself.
I will add up what I've spent on shopping now - I know this will be over £50 but its certainly well under £100 and the cupboards are looking quite moderate but not empty.

I've lost my appetite (which I didn't know was possible) and therefore I'm a bit grumpy. My pleasure in life aside flowers and wellyboots is food. I think perhaps a month long store cupboard challenge whilst good for my pocket has not been good for my noggin!

    :D

    Banks.

    Credit card paid £100 towards.
Banks move money around to pay rent next week.
Payment for humanist lady gone out of my bank.
Some money in for accommodation from folks is in, but not much - need to gently nudge folks as now my money is quite squeaky and that money will cover the celebrant payment.

But none of the wedding thus far is on credit.

And, I've almost balanced paying for my whole share by cash once the accommodation money hits my account and that cancels out the celebrant payment.

Well it makes sense to me - the next bits to pay for (most of food/band/venue) is on Mr Me's cards.

    And I'm not sunk.

    Well not yet.
