Hope you can get some sleep tonight, Pippi - you must be worn out. I'm not too bad, just tired really; and I wish the neighbour who I share and share alike with on the blackberrying front would stop trying to, um, I only can think of it in terms of the phrases from my teenage life, would stop trying to get off with me :eek::eek: at least he's texting, not ringing :rotfl:

    Titters at adult weddings. :)

And texting blackberries. :) - I'm picking up DD in a while from orchestra and then will hound pound and then head to Bedfordshire :)

And speaking of weddings - did you see what I did there?

Wellyboots purchased at goodly bargain (thanks again Mara!)
Petticoat is done for the frock and dancing in the evening (exchanged for veggies :)
Some bunting sorted from friends - must sort more.
Super Frugal Fizz is going to be enroute to Scotland later in the week for cool storage in the frozen north
Slates are all polished and cut and packed for the table dec centre pieces and then the household place mats
Glasses (aka wedding vases for autumnal berries) are enroute too
Slate recycled (welsh) labels for the grub are ready to go and will be recycled into plant labels for the garden later on too :)
Table runner thingmy's are sorted and boxed ready for 'wedding table decoration' run through at the weekend.
Work have said I can take foliage and berries before I leave (free)
Home made band is finalising rehearsals (mr me and his motely crew - they played last year at the local blues festival) - three folks singing (presents to us)
Lasses frocks are almost sorted - I'm just acclimatising to the colour, which was NOT the same as on the internet - although they are lovely.
    Email invitation out
Facebook event page up and going
Order of nonsense blackboard sorted (recycled and free - was heading to a skip)
Chum who's doing some puddings has been practising (much to her lovely partners delight) and tells me the profiteroles can be heaped or stacked :)
Tablet (sweetie type) quantity is now negotiated from a chum as pressie :) for another fun pud/favour
Band (paid, non Mr Flowers) - needs confirming if we do go ahead - it puts the budget very tight but doable - and would be lovely. But it makes things very tight.
Food budget ample but firmly set.

    To do
Signs for the trees (peedie slates? Wiks says yup)
A run through with some berries/etc for a bouquet type hand tied thing - free stuff and maybe a couple roses chucked in - not sure yet.
Finalise how many eggs required for a very large pavola (wedding cake) as a pal is donating the eggs - will see if I can find free fruit somewhere. :D
Managed (I think) to convince a friendly chums husband (a saxophonist) to do a solo bit for a song at the wedding. :) [Will You - Hazel o' Connor]
Cheques for the backpackers (and wellyfest catering department and slaves) are trickling in - which is really helpful. The cost to us is becoming minimal for the 'hire' of our wedding kitchen and bedding of our helpers! This might come in to us at under 100 for 21 happy beds and a kitchen for two days.
    First pressie cheque in :)
    First tree pledged :)

    Just OVER a month.

I must write a proper list.

The budget is squeakymcbeaky - if we hire the band

Without band budget is 1986/3000 - this is for 100 folk. Most of expenses are for forest/celebrant/community venue

The band will take up a goodly amount of the non-allocated funds but we'd still come under budget as all the cunning savings are helping.

    Scary biscuits.

Wowowowowow! Amazing! Love how well priced and swapping/donating/ couponed everything is. The slate sounds fantastic too, love the idea of that. I think you mentioned wik is driving up with the fizz for you beforehand? Best let it settle, of course, don't want it bouncy on the day, so to speak :D it might go :j

It sounds like you need the other band, Pippi - otherwise you and MrFlowers aren't going to be dancing to live music, except his band playing without him .... and music is obviously important to him, at least, cos, y'know, he's in a *band* :rotfl::o

Hope the hounds behave - they should do, I think your sideways rain has migrated down here.

    Night night :kisses3:

Thanks L - Stripes is a bit confussled by spending so much money in a very short space of time on fripperies :)

Still in budget - but only just with a band.

Then again - putting cd's on all night might get a bit tiring.:D

I guess its about spending the money on the things that can't/shouldn't be bartered and bartering/saving on the bits that allow you to do that.

Compromise and all that. You can't compromise on wellington boots (which are beautiful and red by the way) and probably you can't compromise on a good rock out. :)

Waves hello to the L clan, hope you're all good and a sleepy wavey to KC.

    :A

Just negotiated longer with local hotel for wedding guests to access groovey discounted rate. MSE elbows firmly out there.

    :)

Wow, Weding plans really are coming on well :)

If you don't want to go down the band or cd route does anyone have an iPod you can set up a playlist on?

Some playlists can last for hours and you don't have to do anything other than switch on in the first place. :)

Got excited about a visit to Bedfordshire as it is up the road from me, and then realised you meant up the wooden hill to....... Ah well, one day ;)

  • One day Maty I'll make it down and have a grand tour of englandshire :)

We have organised playlists for the earlier bit so that's not a bad plan. Thanks

Will put thinking caps on :)

THanks for being so lovley chaps.

Hello lovely chaps - excuse my silence I've been away gallivanting again. (shoe shopping *70% off - £10.50 and meal planning for the wellyfest)

Got back to work yesterday - I hope you're all good!

Still doing good with the cupboard eating of foods - can almost see the freezer drawers now!

    :)

Off to catch up and write myself a few lists.

  • Ay up Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

    C'mon list maestro - how's wellifest '13 coming along??? (nosey, that's me :D)

Actually, I had been meaning to say what a pleasure it is reading all about the wellywrangling that is going on. It is turning out to be a real 'community' affair - with folks offering their different talents to help out.

Whether it's knowledge about special offers, good priced accessories, folks making you items of apparel in return for veg, creating table adornments, making sure your special day is recorded for posterity (capturing the fun and the formal I am sure :D), cooking up a storm in a hired kitchen for a full-on feast etc etc.

It's marvellous to read all about it :T So ta for sharing :D
