Wow Pippi - just reading your list tires me out!

Amazed at how much you get through in 4 days.

Loving the sound of all the green things spouting.:D Almost inspired to try growing runner beens again - if nothing else, the slugs will have another feast this year!

:wave:to KC & all - good to see you all again!

The bargain duck was nice - but not much meat on it! What was left after the meal has been rubberized in the slow cooker & is now a rich stock. - that's my bit for top to tail eating. - Pippi is it true you can grind down the bones and add it to the garden or does this just attract rodents?
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)

New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!

  • Dear universe.

I know I've sent some of you guys on here electronic copies of my vegetable gardening handouts from my classes. I just can't remember who..............was it CHEV??

If you ARE reading and have them can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me a PM and potentially copies of them back.

***sends out healing and restoritary vibes*****

    Thanks for reading!

Yes you can but be careful if they're just quite hard and you try to blend them, it might cream cracker your blade, depends on your blender) but if you use a pressure cooker (20 mins I think) it is then all crumbly/not really 'bone like' and then its fine to go on the ground.

If its like that then it shouldn't attract rats, bonemeal usually is a wee dressing which is sprinkled over the soil, so if you're worried you can always rake/muddle it in once spread.

    :A

PS my lists tire me out too.:rotfl:

    or I'm very silly.

    I think potentially the latter.

I do less when Mr me is here - usually not much at all in fact.

:p Thankfully he's in Norway the now! Buying me cheese too I hope :)

  • I'm still working on a veg growing workshop for tomorrow night.

Note to self - don't offer to try and cram a 12 week evening class in to a two hour workshop.

    It really doesn't work.

And is less than easy when your hard drive decides to throw a wobbler with all the handouts in it.

Bah - good movie on the TV having plodding through beans and peas (again) and tatties (again) - I'm off to write up the plan/script for tomorrow and hope to get that done in time for a nice sleep before the chaos of tomorrow.

A full work shift at the 'recycling/salvage yard' - then prep for an evening workshop - then a 2-3 hour workshop - then fall in heap after collecting DD from her club in town and packing.

Timing was never my strong point.

Nose back to the vegetable notes :) don't get me wrong, I love vegetables, I love growing them and writing about growing them, its just interactions with humans I'm not so keen on. Give me a vegetable for a conversation any day.

[Present virtual company excluded, obviously :)]

    Aw thanks lovely girl.

Never mind its quite fun typing them out again and learning why on earth carrots need applications of potash ?? that made NO sense (incresed sugars and starches don't you know). Ironically my PPT is safe on the teaching PC at the college - which is why it all needed to be on an external drive due to its hugeness, so I plonked the handouts in there too.

Having taken advice, it seems that I might be able to eventually recover the drive (yay, just the 5+ years of work on there) whilst I have back ups of most things, not the class notes.

Anyways - thanks a bunch, time for bed said Zebedee.

    :)

ETA - first set of work expenses in £191.20 - does a little dance.

    Night jimbob.

Nice amount of expenses to get back :)

I never manage to grow carrots ... Carrots and beans and tomatoe I'm utterly useless at ... I would love of there were a course close by ( I would even go to the big smoke) that lasted a year or two and took me through a whole garden cycle ... It would need to be hands on though as well as class taught ... Ahhh I can but dream :)

Ah the expenses - the first of 3 claims - I wondered why my CC was a bit ouch.:money:

You see now I want to be a carrot dr. I wonder why you struggle to grow them......and beans - well tomatoes hopefully this year you'll go well on those ;) stick to bush tomatoes - much less of a faff.

Ponders developing a year round class................some local garden groups have local guest speakers (which is where I learnt alot of local knowledge), transitions groups often have veggie workshops.......

Maybe there's a niche in the market - maybe I won't be unemployed after all when I move down - maybe
I can be a mobile veggie gardener helping out and tootling along in Darwin (campervan)

    :T

    'The carrot fixer'

:rotfl:I can get called in when folks have rampant weeds and sulky carrots:rotfl:

Ok clearly I've not had enough sleep.

    Washing machine is on
Tea for tonight is on (spag bog)
    One mutt is walked
    Coffee drunk.

Off to check banks and pay my expenses straight off my cc
