Thinking about making a 'mangetout' screen outside the living room windows (floor to ceiling) to have a living eating screen.

Hello Pippi, welcome back! I have missed your diary, did you get my card?
And hello again to other 'old' faces too!0 -
Hey Kc and everyone else ... Some of my wee seedlings have peeped through the soil as well
it feels great to finally see things growing ... I need to tackle all the wee beasties and the Jk though ... The JK battle of 2013 has commenced
I will win this war lol0 -
Seedlings! Wow ... and I love the idea of a mangetout screen, Pippi, thats a really good idea. And even with your now-limited space, you've planted borage? What do you use it with? It must be a real favourite for you
I remembered you asked about what bread I was using yesterday ... I confess, I'm using up the bread I bought for my mum when she was here ... she didn't have the space to take it back with her when she left, so I've been noshing itBut it definitely has an effect.
I've been working on a blog :j got the first post and the photos sized up for the next one, I'll be sticking it back in my sig on here - never thought I'd be doing that again, but here I am
Hope it goes well today for you - I know its boogering keeping up your schedule, but I'm glad you've got an away trip coming up2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

So what are your JK strategies? Are you bashing it furiously, cutting it regularly and applying boiling water to the roots (or round up type chemicals, which are effective and inert when they touch the soil, but if you're an organic gardener cutting and boiling water might be better)?
Studies have shown that with four cuts a year the plant loses vigour and underground biomass. The first cut should be carried out when the first shoots appear and the last cut should be done when the plant before it dies back in the autumn (September or October). Annual cutting will be required.
And good luck with the war.
And shoo those beasties off.
But yay to green growing things.:TTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Borage - nice and tough for here - i'm growing most things at work so that's for work - its pretty and quite good at self seeding so I'm going to dot lots about the place, great for wildlife too
Great to hear you're working on a blog............:T so looking forward to that.
I'm in the process of getting my new one (more 'scotland' than here and more gardeny than much else I hope) up and going and mulling something more frugal and cooking. Or sticking to some kind of actual routine.
Then again I'm not great at routines.
I hope you're OK munching all that bread...........at least you'll be rid of it soon!:D
Lifes kinda returning a bit more to normal - events are dying down a bit at work (but not much) I still work most weekends, but now I can take the occasional weekend off (try to do that once a month).......its odd though having split up days off which mean you have to catch up on everything sporadically.
I can't say I'm a fan, but I'm lucky to have a job.
I'm looking forward to going away - never been to the Scottish Parliment before :T and really grateful for a free trip as its so expensive to go from here.
After that its a frenzy of meeting chums, eating and walking in nice scenery with more trees than here!
Which will be lovely - I'm meeting the university manchild too and seeing him for the weekend. Its easy to snag him you just mention the words 'free food'.:rotfl:

Well here we go again. Now I've actually finished one list I can do another one.
Everything completed on the last list although it did take 4 days
Today is a non-womble work day but a garden teaching prep work day
Todays epic adventures include
Banks and cc's to check and make a payment too.
Check when expenses will be paid
Write up an invoice for my brother for work he's done
Change address at Lloyds - still not done this
Walk hounds
Work on veggie gardening handouts for a workshop/class tomorrow - I've dug out everything I've got and still have a few handouts missing (eg NOT written) mainly legumes/tatties and brassicas - (none of the biggies then eh? doh)
Trip to the CA site with recycling from home and work
Do a list for DD for meals when away and see what else needs plonked in the cupboards
Get bus money out whilst I'm away
See about cleaning car out for trip
Look at what I can jam in car when going south to Mr me's flat (currently thinking about a bed frame and a coffee table, couple boxes of random stuff and some books)
Write another blog - its all walking stuff ATM then again that's all I'm really doing.
Check on tomatoes and chilli's at college work in the greenhouse - they are squatting
Pick up a timesheet and fill in for hort-teaching etc - claimed for 20.5 hours
Check college emails - can't do this remotely anymore
Get stuff ready for tea before I abandon the house as not sure when home and DD out tonight
Fill up the fire basket
Forage for more free wood to address the ying/yang of the fire pile (take some out, put some in, or find replacements)
Skype mr me in Norway
Well I'm sure there's more but that's a start.
First off need to find a cuppaand then tackle those garden handouts - need to see what's on this computer before I head into the college and rampage through the computer there. Although I'm sure the lot of it is on my external hardrive....................(*somewhere amoung the unpacked boxes)
This looks to be majorly boogered.
If I've sent any of you vegetable handouts (and I know I have) if these are electronic can you please email me as I've currently only got paper copies of these - ARGHGHGHGHGHGH.
Dear universe please help. Or fellow mse'r's.
*sighs*
