    Hey congrats
looks like yours is going through
mine is the case of gazumping more that anything else
deal was done about a month back and offer accepted and got mortgage offer everything but still the EA wudnt send me the seller solicitor details and now saying to me that he has got a higher offer. Dont know what to do except loose on about a 1000 quids.

Sorry to hear that Bretts. Why wouldn't they send you a memorandum of sale? Did they give you any indication?

Did you have a survey? If they were delaying proceedings because there was another offer, I would assume they have to tell you this before you spend money on the property- perhaps I'm wrong...

Ethically they should if they have a higher offer but EA's you know now a days have a lot in there hands. I have had survey and everything, they did send me a letter confirming acceptance of my offer but nothing since. Even till now i think they have kept both offers in hand but proceeding with no one i guess. May be looking for an even bigger offer. Worst part I would have to start all over again now and financial loss is done too.

@bretts EAs can be ruthless, that's true. I had a good conversation with vendor's EA today, but I bet they were just relieved everything's finally calmed down.

I have the mortgage offer in place, my deposit is ready. Vendor's solicitor will hand deliver the draft contract later this evening.

    Just the searches are outstanding....

Do you think exchanging in 2-3 weeks is possible?

My solicitor seemed to think so.

Apparently the vendor's solicitor is sending mine the contract today, so this incident has certainly put some fire under their feet.
