Vendor inaccurate info prior to offer

@bluedrop I will indeed. Sorry to hear you're going through the same thing, it's extremely stressful!
What stage are you at now? Why will the vendor not negotiate? If your surveyor found those problems, then the next survey carried out by another buyer will find those problems too.
I'm pretty certain that there is a strict new law stating that the EA must be honest about any questions asked by the buyer, or they could be sued for malpractice. So I will be copying in the email that I received when I forward the reports on Monday. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Thanks for letting me know... Could you please send me a link to this law? Very useful stuff...

It's in my signature. I just got hold of the homebuyers report....
The vendor/EA believes there is a lot of demand for that property. So if I drop, they will find an idiot who will suck up after the homebuyers report brings out these problems...There is more to life than increasing its speed.0 -
@bluedrop I don't know the name/ number of the specific law I'm afraid - I think I came across mention of it during my hours of reading through Martin's homebuying tips!
I think my EA is the worst of the lot. I do some work with them professionally too, so thought they might be particularly helpful. But no such luck. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0 -

Should hope so too, the EA is supposed to look after his clients interests (the seller) not yours.0 -
@ILW I appreciate that, but I didn't expect them to be quite as pushy or "scare-mongering" as they have been. I think they have a duty of care toward any buyer, even though the vendor is their client. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. You should check out Lesson Learned's 'diary of a house search'. There is a lot on there about inept EAs: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4499789Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0

Agents are most likely getting an ear bashing from the vendor.
Vendor wants to know what the delay is.
Plenty of timewasters when it comes to purchasing property.0 -
This vendor left me a card, with tea coffee and biscuits last night (when I went around with the trades).
Followed by 'do I give the keys to you now?'. So they don't seem the 'ear-bashing' type.
Would have been a little helpful if they were as then I wouldn't have any sort of sentimental connection with the purchase. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0
