Any news JackRS?
It's gone quiet, I believe form E’s have been exchanged.
I sent the ex a groupon offer of Microsoft office training for £19 and got the following reply:
‘Very kind of you but have made my own arrangements regarding updating my skills. You will be pleased to note that as I don't have a job my courses are free.’
I’m meeting her to collect her new car today, as her old one is over the mileage limit of the lease scheme there’s a penalty to pay of £100 plus any damage charged, so need to work out how to get that back. I suppose it’ll need to come out of the voluntary maintenance. I see what my solicitor suggests?Regards

From my local council's website:You may be eligible for a concessionary fee if you are in receipt of some benefits, most of which are listed below.
- 16 to 18 years and in full time education – no charge;
- In receipt of, or dependent on a person receiving any of the following:
- Universal Credit (UC)
- Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support (IS)
- Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
- Incapacity Benefit (IB)
- Guaranteed Pension Credit (GPC)
- Severe Disablement Benefit (SDB)
- Housing Benefit (HB)
You will be required to provide evidence of the benefit you are receiving. Please bring current and up-to-date proof of your eligibility with you when you enrol. Such proof could include a bank statement or a recently dated award letter.0 -
So I wonder if she has started claiming benefits?0

The ex collected her new car this week, this comes out of my salary at £206pcm. I had to change it to a higher mileage one as she’ll be doing more with regular trips south. Her previous car had charges due to some small damage but mainly due to being over mileage and not being serviced . I didn’t know the mileage issue so as you can imagine not happy. The total charge for all these is £713 which will come out of my salary next month. I’ve given this information to my solicitor to advise how to proceed.
We’ve now got her form E and as predicted she’s got a letter from doctor stating her distress from the break up but it did state that she does not have any medical illness.
Her income needs are £2969 pcm and in the order sought has requested:
1) Transfer of home to her sole name or if sold all of the proceeds.
2) Child support and spousal maintenance.
3) Pension sharing order
There is no indication of any plan to get additional income from a job or JSA.
I’ve fed back a number of points to my solicitor, so see what happens now?Regards

I don't know how her solicitor manages to keep a straight face. She's being incredibly unreasonable - which is good, should it go to court. The problem is that it boxes you into a corner where you either retaliate (thus being equally unreasonable in the eyes of the judge) or you verge on the better side of fair (which is probably what the ex's counsel wants).
She can't have the entire house, spousal maintenance and some of your pension - she knows this, her solicitor knows this and, should it get to court, the judge will know this.
I don't understand why you've provided her with another car? Especially after she's refused to even have the last one serviced.
Have you been able to get your hands on any old bank statements? To show what the family outgoings were before you left? They could help your solicitor argue that your wife is being unreasonable.0 -
Wow, again!
Would it be cheaper to buy her a second-hand car, rather than leasing a new one each year?0 -

Yes last 12 months statements included in the Form E pack. Was advised to pay for car as it shows providing for this interim period is reasonable. If I didn't she'd ned capital to get one etc...Regards

Just can't believe her requests............words fail me.
Hope you are enjoying you new home Jack.
You are so dignified in how you are handling this situation and need this all to come to a close very soon.
I sincerely hope the judge wipes the floor with her and you get the settlement you deserve.0
