Yes I know what you mean, and I don't know for sure but my barrister said to me that when her barrister fed back to say that she wanted more time to decide she had admitted to him that she had tried to encourage her to accept. It could have just been words?0

If Jack had had one of these types, he would probably have been told to go on long term sick through stress or to take early retirement.
Either would seriously have affected how much his ex could claim from him.0 -

No I would not be required by law unless a maintenance pending suite (sorry if wrong spelling?) hearing was held and an order passed. Obviously these take time and costs high so it would not be likely to be held before a final divorce hearing.
So can you not hold out a few more months til (june was it?) Then stop all payments and say right, either you take my offer and I continue paying SM, or we can wait until the final hearing and see what they say. The longest this will go on for is til oct so that's looooads of money saved for you to pay off solicitors fees and stuff.
Lets face it, it's not really going to get any worse for you anyway is it so it might do her some good to be without £1k a month from you. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
After the thousands of pounds wasted using these useless solicitors, have they had the decency to enquire about how things went for you Jack, or is that not the done thing?0

Well mine is on holiday and I wouldn't encourage her to ask me as I'd be charged for it!
My Barrister said he'd make a summary report and send to my solicitor. He also informed me I've got another £5000 bill from mine due covering the hearing preparation so I'll be reviewing that bill and seeing where the value was added. Especially frustrating when the judge didn't review all the prepared documents only the barristers statement.Regards

Really? Did you put it down in the format suggested? There are solicitors and barristers there as well as lay people who have been through the system. Definitely try it again. Length of marriage (inc. cohabitation, ages, children, salaries, assets etc.
