    We're heading out in bit, No wind today so won't be sailing.

    Got a text from my son and daughter thanking me for their gifts, going to speak with my daughter soon. It's the first Christmas I've not been with them so strange for us all.

    I am so happy that you have heard from your son and daughter. I am sure that has helped to cheer you up. It is difficult the first year because you tend to reminisce about Christmases gone by.

    The first Christmas away from your kids is always hard, but it gets easier and as they're older, it won't be long before they're doing their own things at this time of year.

    Haha this thread became something like a club for its followers. People take change that was not instigated by them as a negative usually (eg Christmas away from kids). But it is not necessarily negative. ,its just our perception .. serendipity helps ...
    The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
    Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.
