  • Despite waking up and still feeling sorry for myself I seem to have had a change of heart at some point during the day. OK so I haven't paid anything off today but I have contacted Co-operative bank and had my payment arrangement extended for another 6 months and I've contacted Unison to see if the give me any financial assistance. If you don't ask you don't get. If they can only help pay off some utility arrears that would free up some money each month which I could put towards the debt. I also had a direct debit bounce last week and I had a letter off the company today saying they would increase future repayments to make up for the missed one. So that's another headache less than I had this morning.

My son bought me a lucky dip for tonight's lottery so I'm hoping I'll get lucky, also I should be approximately £87 per month better off from May's pay as a pay rise would have been added.

Lots of positives today, let's hope the rest of the week brings some more :)

    Hi D2bDF,
Just read your thread for the first time and wanted to say that I think you're doing really well. It must feel like a long slog, but you've come so far since the beginning and it will all get paid off in time (and like you say, you're not adding to it which is fantastic).
Sending lots of luck and I'll look forward to reading more :)

  • Thank you Gib. I don't feel as if I'm doing very well but if I keep chipping away at it eventually I'll get there x

I think you're doing an amazing job. It's incredibly hard, but as you say, you're chipping away at it, and you'll definitely get there. Sending you luck and positivity!

  • Thanks for the support, it means a lot. When your feeling down it really helps. Have got all paperwork together to send to Unison so that can be sent off tomorrow - fingers crossed they'll help me out.

Can't think of any other organisations I can approach but am looking into it. Am still waiting on responses from a few ppi claims but not holding out much hope. Fingers crossed though.

  • Another weekend is nearly over. Not got much planned though. No money news to report - still skint!

I've sent off my pack to unison and hope they will consider my application, they may be able to save me some money each month if they will agree to pay off something.

Managed to sell one item on Gumtree this week so made and star £5. Got two more items for sale on there and have started a car boot box. Got one up the attic ready to load into the car and started another one for the things I come across day by day. Will do a boot sale once I've got enough to make a small profit.

Got a massively busy week in work this week so can't wait until 5pm on Friday. I'll be able to think about the Bank Holiday weekend :)

Have seriously been thinking about going down the mortgage rescue plan route so if anybody reading this has any stories to share I'd be grateful to hear.

Have a good Sunday everyone x

  • A nice long weekend to look forward to. Got no plans other than to catch up on some housework. Nothing much happening on the money front other than the usual outgoings more than incomings :)

  • A bit of good news from the postman today. A small ppi refund from Welcome. Apparently my refund from a number of years ago was mis-calculated and I was underpaid £200. With interest and minus tax they owe me £256. Not a huge amount but something all the same.

Have signed my acceptance form and sent it back to them with my bank details. Hopefully receive that in the next few weeks.
