  • Despite having reclaimed all the mis-sold ppi I've ever paid (from the organisations that I still have documentation for) I'm wondering whether it's worth my while writing to everyone I've ever dealt with and asking them to double check that there are no outstanding claims that I can make.

I feel I really need to try and make some money and try and sort debts out. For the price of a stamp it's got to be worth my while. Have made a list of all organisations I've ever associated myself with and plan on typing up a standard letter. All letters will be posted tomorrow then I will sit back and cross my fingers that there are some forgotten hundreds out there with my name on.

Have also printed off a unison application form for financial assistance so will send that off as well in the next few days.

    19 days to payday :(

  • Have just posted 5 ppi letters of to Halifax, Welcome Finance, RBS, Bank of Scotland and Northern Rock. Don't think for one minute I'll get anything back but surely it's worth one last shot. Also paid off the 3 phone bill so that's another £38 off the debt total :)

  • Pretty happy with the way the month is going so far. Currently have £10 in my purse, £32 in the bank, £43 to be paid in on Friday, £83 a week tomorrow and then pay day on 21st. I think I'm going to get through the month ok :)

  • Five days until payday and I'm still going good. I have £10 in my purse for petrol and that has to last me until Tuesday when I'll have my Child Benefit. Payday then on Friday :)

Small update regarding the ppi claims. Have had a letter back from Band of Scotland and they have sent me a form to complete. Have completed that and it will be back in the post to them tomorrow. I don't think for one minute I'll have anything back but who knows?????

  • Pay day has come and gone and even though I'm not loaded I'm getting by :/ I've written to 5 companies regarding missold ppi and received a response from 2 of them saying they are looking into it. I also wrote to Halifax about missold mortgage protection on a really old mortgage and write to Lloyds to try to reclaim back some charges. These are all on really old loans so I'm not holding out much hope. We'll have to wait and see.

  • Had a phone call off lloyds bank today regarding charges I was trying to claim back. Been told as the account was closed in November 1998 they cannot refund me because it's greater than 6 years :(

Still got a few more companies to hear back from with regards to mis sold ppi so hopefully one of them will have more positive news.

  • Had a response back from Northern Rock today regarding ppi. It appears I've had all that's owed to me so no forgotten loans that I haven't claimed for.

A bit disappointed even if I guessed that was the case.

  • Have managed to clear another debt. Had a bank account that I wanted to close but it was £18 overdrawn. Managed to clear that and now in the process of closing the account. It's not much but every little helps. My next little debt is a £52 debt to cooperative bank. I've been repaying it at £1 per month but am going to ask them if I can repay it over two months at £26 per month. The feeling when a debt is paid off is a feeling of immense achievement. I've got a massive way to go yet but am trying to stay positive. On another note 5 days to payday :)
