  • It's scary how quick the year is flying by.

Fingers crossed that your expenses are included (do you not get a pay slip in advance of pay day?)

Defrosting the freezer is on my list but keep putting it off.

  • Good morning,

Not posted very much lately because I've been so busy. Have started studying for my degree and I've not quite got the hang of time management yet!!!

Saying that, although I've been quiet I've been very good. I have managed to pay off the Past Due debt so that's one I can cross off my list. Need to go through my Debt file and see which is the next one to cross off. The month before christmas is not a good time to concentrate on debt, but I am determined to keep on track.

Have got a list as long as my arm of things I want to do this weekend and have booked Monday off work to try concentrate on these tasks. Am going to pace myself by completing one task them collecting some adpoints. I'm hoping that by breaking up the boring jobs will give me the incentive to carry on!

  • Not a bad morning. Have cleaned bathroom and kitchen, done a mountain of ironing and gathered 21 adpoints. Off to do some lunch and tackle the dining room before my next break.

  • Have been through the debt folder and the next debt to concentrate on is Three mobile for £38.16. Am going to aim towards the end of November to pay this off.

  • Well I've survived another Christmas and this time my debt hasn't increased. Don't be proud of me, it's not increased because nobody out there will give me money :(

Am not going to make lots of promises that I know I can't keep in 2014 so am just going to try my best to reduce the debt.

I have a job interview in the New Year and if I get it I'll have a small pay rise, nothing massive but an increase all the same so fingers crossed I'll get it.

I have also started the sealed pot challenge. Had a money box for christmas and I've put in a few pounds already. Don't know what I'm going to use it for but I'm sure it will come for something.

Have got quite a few things to eBay but at the moment I have an outstanding bill which I can't afford to pay so I'll have to wait until that's cleared before I list anything. Not going to make hundreds of pounds but every penny helps.

Hope you've all managed to keep the budget under control over the last few weeks and here's to 2014 x

  • Hi shinner,

Yes have had interview and secured the job. More monthly pay (although I don't know by how much yet) and less travelling so saving on petrol.

Not had a good start to the year moneywise though as have had a few letters off debt collectors who are wanting more than I've got so still trying to negotiate with them.

Feeling particularly down at the moment (post christmas blues) and really want to have a blow out with money but I haven't got any so I'm feeling frustrated and angry with myself for getting in this mess.

Saying that, have been excellent with the packed lunch for work. Not had lunch from canteen all year. And managed to save £20 for next christmas so a good start to the year in that respect.

  • Another payday has come and gone and for the first time in ages I'm doing OK. Don't get me wrong I've not got money to waste but there's money to cover all the direct debits AND I've got enough for food!

That is fantastic news. Remember your are the one who decides when to up your payments not the debt collectors. I would make sure you have an emergency fund saved.
    Your doing well keep going.:)

  • Thanks for the support. Have had a major clear out of clothes today and gave them to cashforclothes. I know I could have got more if I'd had boot sale or ebayed them but needed to get rid quickly. Managed to get over £20 for the clothes so happy with that.

Still not had a start date for the new job, just want to get in and start now.

Managed to keep on top of all the bills this month. Got very little left over but nobody is chasing me for money which is always a good sign.
