Hello, well done on making it to the end of another month and on making a reduction on the debt, that's really good because it's going in the right direction
I'll keep my fingers firmly crossed that the money goes in on the 27th, then you can update your total again x

Hello debt busters. Have had an awful weekend moneywise
Had eyes tested yesterday and needed new glasses so that cost a little over £80. Also had to buy DD new shoes as she was still wearing her summer pumps which are no good in the rain so another £36 went there.
Saying that all direct debits have been covered so nothing to worry about there. Also got packed lunch sorted for the week so that should be another cheap week for me. Very little money left for the month though so desperately hoping DS's tax rebate comes through on Friday or I am well and truly stuffed.
Hope you all have a good Sunday and the weekend has been a cheap one. X12/04/2019

Shame about the spending but they are life's necessities unfortunately - can't do without glasses or shoes.
As you say at least the bills are paid ( even it's only a small consolation).
Hope your son gets his rebate soon.

Thanks eyes wide open, I'm hoping he gets the rebate as well, his payday is Friday so not long to wait now. It would be fab if it came through and I could pay another small debt off.
Have had a Busy couple of days work wise and I've managed to keep the spends reasonably low, nothing major needing my money, in fact I've been very good. Just hope I can manage to stay like this for the next month.
Not much planned for tonight other than some paella and a bath.12/04/2019

Absolutely nothing to report this week. DS didn't receive his tax rebate so there was no excitement coming from that. I had a feeling it wouldn't come this month as his new tax code only came a few days ago, never mind, something to look forward to for next payday.
Money on track for the month, nothing there for luxuries but at least there's enough to get by. Countdown to to next payday now.12/04/2019

As long as you can get by then that's the main thing. At least it's something to look forward to.
Monday is payday for me - been a very long month. Still waiting for ppi decision so know what it's like to be waiting ( don't like - want to know NOW!!! )
Hope you have a good weekend xxSave £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

I'm not the most patient of people. I like a turnaround time of 7 days maximum, unfortunately businesses don't have the same vision as me

I have only just stuck my head in the door, but I just wanted to check that you knew that you can take your prescription from your optician and get it filled anywhere. Including the web. I think martins weekly deals has glasses from 9 pounds this week. It may not be possible to do anything about this pair, but perhaps you could try out an online pair, as back up to these to see what the quality is.
Right have now read the rest of the thread. Great that your DS is now working and that the tax rebate of his will be coming your way. BUT will this cover those months where you paid his loan? If it will then fair enough, but if it doesn't then you may want to have a talk about that.
Do either of your children pay you board? If the DS is working then he should at least be paying his part of the council tax as he is now and adult and will be counted for this purpose.
If DD is getting a CRB check is she doing nannying or similar? I am sure she could baby sitting work with this as a plus....
I know that it is a bit hard to ask them for money, but life isn't a free ride, and they need to learn that there are outgoings in a household.
If he already pays board, then ignore all of the above
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi chevalier thanks for the suggestions. DS already contributes and DD ears her own money with a part time job, that means that she can provide for herself (to a certain extent)
A lazy Sunday at the MIL's today. Would really have preferred to stay home and crack on with some housework, instead I'm sitting watching carp on tv and eating food I don't like. If she lived nearer I'd probably be making an excuse to go home but she's 90 miles away and my partner drove down. So grin and bear it is what I'll have to do.

Nothing major happening in my life at the moment, just seem to be ticking along nicely. Payday tomorrow and to say I can't wait is an understatement. Am hoping there's £55 travelling expenses included and if so that will be used to clear a small debt.
Have had a busy weekend defrosting the chest freezer ready for christmas. Can't believe November is almost upon us.12/04/2019
