In fairness the pillows are a different beast altogether. I DETEST the pillows but I wouldn't be without my mattress.
OH has one, uses it as a bottom pillow, when I roll over to his side in the morning when he's left for work I take my own pillows with me

Ditto, I love the matress and loathe the pillow...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

I've got a wedge-shaped pillow but it is too high for me if I use it the way it is supposed to be used, so I use it with the thin edge of the wedge nearest to me.0 -

I don't think we've ever been away during the winter, but yes, I would never let the house get too cold if we did go away as we have pipes in the loft which might freeze.0 -

2 very different beast tbf. I got given a couple of memory foam pillows from my sister who hated them. I hated them too. But the mattresses are totally different.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I bought a memory foam mattress a few months back and I wouldn't be without it now. I got a Silent Night one which was on Amazon for around £160 at the time.
My original mattress was a cheap, nasty Argos basic one and this is a revelation. It doesn't make any noise and supports me perfectly. I agree that I can feel a bit hot sometimes, but I don't see that as a problem.
I sleep far better now and I think it's a better quality of sleep too. However, I do agree that the pillows are awful. I find they're ok for sitting up in bed, but I never use them when I'm sleeping.0 -

I had a difference of opinion with the man for a long long time, because he found a niche in the market, which he exploited 100% to his advantage on this so called Money Saving Site! He didn't need to name his online shop, as the product he invented was only being sold by one online company. So any search engine would immediately find it very easily. Which was very clever by the man.
I DID actually agree with the vast majority of what he said. The only thing I disagreed with was when he was steering people towards he's unique product.
Thanks for saying that he is the only person that knows what he's talking about, so I've spent 13 years in the trade, numerous factory visits to have learned nothing?
I have been the only true INDEPENDENT beds/mattress adviser on the site. Yes I post links to products that I have full knowledge of, but these links are in no way connected to the company in which I work for. I merely suggest products, not retailers!
All he did was have much more time to construct his posts and therefore his arguments? Why because it was all helping his cash in the bank! It was worth his while spending 30 mins on a single post.
Whilst I do it to help past the time while at work and try to help educate people in the mine field of the mattresses world. I even get PM'd by people who would like to do business with me. But I have NEVER and never will take up any offers. So therefore I can never make the mistake or crossing the boundary of Independent advice and touting for business.
As I said, I have read through many of his posts, and I come to a different conclusion to you. At first I suppose I was suspicious, but then I dug a bit deeper and found that he was by no means the only retailer who sold the product that he designed, but there were many other retailers also.
The word on the street in various forums is that he is no longer in the bed business, but he does still have his mattress advice site. So if this is true, then I would say that if he really doesn't have any vested interest, but still goes to the expense of running a website to give advice, then I know who I think is really impartial. Especially if he takes time to answer questions without any gain whatsoever. On the other hand, if you recommend a product that you sell, then there is a chance that you could get sales out of that recommendation.
It sounds like you were a little too paranoid at the time.0
