Full memory foam mattress?
Comments
-
We paid over £900 for one in November and I haven't had a decent night since. Last week I decided we had to do something so I got a single mattress topper out of the cupboard that one of the kids had used, a good quality deep down one. I put it on my side of the bed and it is heaven. The down side is that it looks as if we have a body in the bed, or that there are 3 of us in it. We will have to get a full topper shortly, but as a fix it is working.
The memory foam supposedly has a "climacool" layer, but I was so hot in it that I couldn't sleep even during the coldest of nights, and I simply could not get into a comfortable position so I was watching the clock go around.
Worst purchase we have ever made, if it hadn't cost so much it would have been on the tip by now. OH hasn't had any trouble sleeping though.0 -

No electric blankets in this house EVER! After OH had one before we married which caught fire and nearly burnt the house down! OH and his Dad managed to put the fire out before the whole bedroom caught fire.0 -

There have been 1000's of posts by a previous forum member called Tim Deegan, giving loads of advice. And he alo has his own website called mattress advice, or something like that. Anyway I have gleaned loads of knowledge from his posts and website, which helped prevent me from repeating previous mistakes.
Please can we delete this post as the man in question (in the post) may or may not have been using this forum to covertly advertise his business. Plus he's PPR so we shouldn't even be naming him! (I think)
There are various guides to mattresses on the internet.
Oh and yes ALL memory foam mattresses have been on the market in the past.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

Ohhh is that a TD alias? I did wonder if he'd reappear. Fascinating

Like most I started off with a topper. Liked it, so went then to a memory foam mattress. Loved it more. But found the bed was getting too low for me to get out of, stupid knees, so went and bought a complete new bed, sprung and memory foam. It's been the best by far, and wish i had got it years ago. It's much firmer than the foam one, and can turn in it a lot easier.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

You mean the person who you have quoted a few times?
He was the only person who actually seemed to know what he was talking about, which is why so many people like me spent hours and hours going through 1000's of posts (which is how I know that you have quoted him).
He has actually been named many times by various people, which is how I found his posts in the first place. So it's a bit late to suddenly say people shouldn't talk about someone who obviously knows their subject far better than you do.0 -
Please let's not start about if he knows the subject better then I do. I have never claimed to know more about my trade then any other fellow bed/mattress retailer.
I had a difference of opinion with the man for a long long time, because he found a niche in the market, which he exploited 100% to his advantage on this so called Money Saving Site! He didn't need to name his online shop, as the product he invented was only being sold by one online company. So any search engine would immediately find it very easily. Which was very clever by the man.
I DID actually agree with the vast majority of what he said. The only thing I disagreed with was when he was steering people towards he's unique product.
Thanks for saying that he is the only person that knows what he's talking about, so I've spent 13 years in the trade, numerous factory visits to have learned nothing?
I have been the only true INDEPENDENT beds/mattress adviser on the site. Yes I post links to products that I have full knowledge of, but these links are in no way connected to the company in which I work for. I merely suggest products, not retailers!
All he did was have much more time to construct his posts and therefore his arguments? Why because it was all helping his cash in the bank! It was worth his while spending 30 mins on a single post.
Whilst I do it to help past the time while at work and try to help educate people in the mine field of the mattresses world. I even get PM'd by people who would like to do business with me. But I have NEVER and never will take up any offers. So therefore I can never make the mistake or crossing the boundary of Independent advice and touting for business.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

Nope I am not him. I spent many a time posting on the same threads as him.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Well his touting didn't work because his bed website is no more and according to the header page ceased trading.0

I've just found it, working.
Correction, it's NOT working.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
