  • I was about to ask if our kids go to the same school until I got to the bit about charging to go to the Nativity . I think that's awful! Xx

  • Glad you finally got your payment.

Boo to the school, my kids have currently got payments waiting for the trip to a Pantomime, regular have non uniform day for a fee and endless other bits and pieces. I can't believe the cards were £6.50, how many were in the pack?

Why are they charging for the nativity, surely it should be a fun family performance in the school! Cheeky beggars.

  • Schools really annoy me, we just forked out £500 for a 5 day trip to Ireland, they flew of course! I am sure it would be cheaper on the ferry, we could have all had a holiday for that, but he is such a good boy and I scrimped rather than say he could not go with his friends, they all assume we have endless pots of money....cheeky gits x

  • Thanks guys, no idea why they are charging and it better be goingto a local charity.

NL - That's mad, you have a port just down the road, surely the ferry would have been loads cheaper. I think you have told me in the past which school your DD is at and I can believe it. Guess I better gear myself up for all the expense as that's my daughter's first choice of school.
  • SO, so cold this morning I think winter has arrived, my car is covered in ice.

Plans today are of course work, nip to post office to post ebay item, also need some fuel.

Had Rst chicken last night, so going to make a chick and mushroom pie for tonights tea with the left overs, probably have mash and veg with it.

Ironing pile is taking over, going to do a few bits this morning and then rest tonight, must also sweep and mop through downstairs.

Sat and checked budget for the rest of the month, all bills have been paid and I have £70 left for fuel and food, also have £15 in nectar points which I will use at sainsbugs on food, so all quite doable as the freezer is pretty full with various bits of meat, we have half a sack of spuds left, rice and pasta is breeding in the cupboard:rotfl:, so really only need fresh stuff.
Noticed kids are eating less yoghurts, wonder if it's because it's getting colder and they want hot dessert instead, might make a rice pud or bananas and custard tonight for pudding.

Also waiting for a pure profile payment of £25 and a £10 sainsbugs voucher so these will both help with thngs when they arrive, have a couple of bits on ebay, but really only 99p items if they sell.

Have a good Tuesday and i'm going to do some ironing.x.
  • Morning Penny :)

Cold this morning. That is ridiculous of your school to expect so much money is such a short time. I wonder what planet some of these head teachers are on sometimes.

Money is slipping through my fingers like water this last week or so and I need to pull back quite a bit to get things in order.

Good luck with the ironing :)
  • I hope your daughter gets her first choice of school Penny, it really is excellent. They are really good at tackling any problems that might arise (bullying etc) and the educational side is great too. It's all just a bit too middle class and fabulous for my liking! The parents at my son's grammar school are a nicer mix, the teachers are pretty eccentric though. We are very lucky to have so many good schools so close to us x My boy has been getting offers through for universities next year, things are about to get even more expensive...x

  • Thanks NL, I have my fingers crossed.

I've been so cold today, at work I was sat with a tshirt, polo neck jumper with a cardigan on the top and a scarf on and I was still cold, have a banging head tonight so I'm hoping I'm not coming down with anything.

P1$$£d off with Debenhams, placed an order last week for some xmas gifts, half the order arrived fine, today I received an email to tell me the rest had been returned:eek:, when I rang them they said the parcel had been damaged in delivery and returned to them , so I said well when were you going to let me know and are you sending me replacements, as ked me if I wanted replacements, said yes, man asked me if I wanted charging to same card:mad:, said no I have already paid for the items, not received them and do not want charging twice, his reply was we will refund you for the items returned and charge you for the re order but the refund will take up to ten days:eek:, lost the plot at this point and told them to cancel it, refund me and let him know what a useless bunch of so and so's they were.

    Ok rant over.

Been quite good and not spent much over past 2 days, £20 on fuel.

Had a small sale on ebay and redeemed from cr0wdology, so £10.80 has hit paypal, so a bit more for the grocery pot.

Easy tea tonight of tomato soup and cheese Panini's, also made some gingerbread had it warm with custard, very warming and filing:).

That's crazy and such poor customer service. You should complain and see if you can get some vouchers or something. Absolute tosh.

Gingerbread sounds good..I am not a huge custard fan but in this weather I can imagine it really hits the spot

Thats ridiculous treatment by Debenhams and they say online shopping takes the stress out of Christmas!

Your tea yesterday sounded lovely. Delicious.
