Sorry to hear your daughter hurt herself Penny. Not nice at all. Good to hear she has made a bit of money.

One never knows what each day brings.
  • Thanks sweetpea, I was halfway through making cakes when it all happened.

I hope your daughter is feeling better today pwps x

DH been paid today, a good one of £613, but he has to pay his CSA payment (last one ever though - hurray!) pay a CC payment (£100), car tax (£96), mobile bill (£33) and other small DDs which will leave us with around £80 before the food shopping.

Going to town this morning to weigh in a couple of gold rings and a gold necklace. Can't bring myself to take the one my parents got me for my 21st yet though :o DH has a heavy silver chain so I'm going to take that in too. He never wears it, it's been in the cupboard for a couple of years.

Need to get plimsolls and lunchboxes but they can wait until next week now.

It looks like DH may be getting a new job in the next couple of weeks. His current work have moved him which means a lot less hours, they've also taken his van away which means an extra £160 per month in diesel. The new job is closer which saves diesel but I'm quite sure the wage will be lower.
I have a couple of applications in the pipeline, but with 3 children it's difficult.

  • Good luck with the job hunting Pinkpig :)

Penny I remember Kickers too! My sister had a pair of those! I was a DM girl and she was a Kicker's kinda girl ;) Both shoes though would last forever compared to the ones these days lol shame they're not 'fashionable' anymore. I tried to get DS1 to buy a pair of DM shoes last time we were near a shop, he scoffed at them and walked off :p ! Cheeky so and so lol x

Hope your DD feels better soon, when is she back at school, will her hand affect her when she is back. One thing I cannot bake is scones, they are always small, not big like in the shops. Since i'm the only one that eats them, suppose this is a good thing.x

  • Hi Pinkpig, hope that your DH job works out ok and that your job hunting does as well. Good luck selling the gold, I was in town this morning and was looking in the antique jewelers (i love antique jewellery and was just looking) there was a couple in there selling some old bits of scrap gold so I think lots of people are doing it at the minute.

DFW - Funny how kids are, DS laughs at DH for wearing chinos and When DH says to him chinos have been around for years, DS looks at him like he is mad and thinks that he is the first generation to wear them and his dad is just too old to be wearing .

Amber - DD hand is hurting much less today, she isn't back at school until Thurs, so hopefully it will be a lot better by then, at the end of the day if she can't write then its just one of those things.
I love making scone and they are always huge, i'm supposed to get 12 scones out of the mixture i make, lucky if i get 8.
  • So I've been shopping this morning as its payday.

    Groceries - Aldi £45.46
    sains - £22.28
    butchers -£ 9.50

£12 over my £65 budget, but I did buy extra turkey mince, cereal and pasta as it was on offer so hopefully reducing next weeks budget.

Bought 3 stamps and a birthday card in the post office £3.05, sent the ebay item DD sold and given her £6.

Paid a bill - £70.36 at the bank.

Think that was everything for today.

Need to catch up on the housework as we look like a bomb has gone off and I also seem to have a washing mountain forming.

Off to make lunch and catch up on some diaries.

Car tax paid, CSA money in an envelope ready, £41 at Aldi, bits from pound shop £6.
Didn't get plimsolls or lunchbags, going to see how much is left at the end of the week as DH needs diesel too. He got the job he went for an interview for yesterday so that's good news, less travelling.

Took 2 gold rings, a gold necklace and a thick silver chain in and got £40. Not fantastic I suppose but I have a deposit of £50 to pay for the dj for DH's 50th in January so it will go towards that. Oh and I sold a leather jacket for £20 today too - so am paying a £60 deposit instead :-)

  • Pinkpig - that's fantastic news about your OH getting the job. At least you made a few pounds with the rings/necklace.
