Hi Penny
Glad to hear that you are feeling more positive today. I think we always feel better when we write it all down. You will get through it.
Hope your shop goes well.0 -
Thanks sweetpea.
Aldi shop went well, spent £36.64 after vouchers and we seemed to have got loads.
Need to get potatoes but will send DH down to the farm shop to get a sack of them, lots of potato dishes coming up:rotfl:.
Currently have a coffee and walnut cake cooking in the oven, need to also make some treats for kids lunch boxes, probably just choc crispy cakes.
Kids need to pack their school bags and pe kits, Its laid out for them they just need to put it in their bags, I am refusing to as I think they are old enough to do it themselves, can't quite believe DD is going into her last year at primary doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago she was starting in reception:(.0 -
Think we all go through a period of being overwhelmed , sometimes it feels like it is never ending. My problem is when i have one "crisis" it seems another one follows that and so on. This hasn't been a particular good year for me and i will be glad to see the back of it. Then i sit down and think of all the good things that have happened and it calms me down, but i would still like a period of good luck soon if anybody can help. :)x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Morning Pennywise,
Are you back to school today aswell?
Eeekkkk to it being DD's last year, hope she enjoys it, im sure it will be a shock to the system next year for Secondary school! xxMummytogirls x0 -
Good afternoon.
Had a busy few days since going back to work/school and we are still trying to get into the swing of things, also various sports things have started back up again so kids have been busy, busy, busy!!!!
Not much to update really money is still tight but we are managing, I'm liking the autumnal weather as I've been making soup which is always cheap and made my first rice pud of the season, again very cheap and very yummy.
Will be going to aldi tomorrow so a meal plan has been done and a shoppping list and I'm hoping that I spend no more than £30.
I have been looking a my budget and what we will pay off and we are hopeful that we will be down to 18k by the end of the year, which I know is still a huge amount, but I am hopeful that next year we will be able to pay more off than this year. Who knows we may be debt free in 4 years time :eek:.
Its gone really cold up north , but the CH has stayed off, I lit the stove early yesterday morning and the house was soon warm and snuggly, lit it again today as DD was complaining that it was cold, I need to buy some fleece blankets for the beds, will have a look in home bargains and see if I can find some cheap ones, could also do with a couple for on the sofa's, nice to snuggle under on a winters evening.
Hope everyone is keeping well, take care.

I noticed the extra chill over the last few days but put it down to still reacclimatising after my holiday! But I've had to dig out my long sleeved pj's anyway. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

It's cold here too
I've had to close the back door for the first time in months during the day. Dog is not impressed :rotfl:. I've got lots of potato dishes on the meal planner just like you
. Sorry to hear you're having such a tight month money wise, I hope it eases up for you soon. I had an awful year last year, one thing after the other went wrong and it didn't let up at all so I know where you're coming from. It all just gets too much sometimes. I was very glad to see the back of 2012. And fingers crossed this year has been so much easier (and everytime something does go wrong I thank my lucky stars it's not going as wrong as last year!!)

Thanks DFW, we will be ok, I just keep plodding on.
Well its finally stopped raining, seems as though its been no stop the last 24 hrs.
Finding it difficult getting back into a routine, do not feel organised at all and seem to running around like a headless chicken.
Just been a half day at work today, but then I went grocery shopping spent 21p in Tesco, bought some cereal bars and chocolate for packed lunches and paid with clubcard voucher so just 21p to pay in cold hard cash:D, went to aldi and spent £34.01. Also put £25 of fuel in the car.
I am really hoping there will be no more spends this week and try and keep everything to bear minimum.
Made £15 on ebay, need to parcel up and post in the morning.
DS playing out trainers have finally fallen to bits, so his good trainers have now been moved on to being his playing out ones, so will need to get him some new ones when i get paid, he is also going to need some winter boots, was hoping to hold out a bit longer and let him wear his crocs but the weather has other ideas:mad:. I'm going to also need some winter boots for work.
Need to get on with some cooking turning the left over roast chicken into a chicken and mushroom pie, will have it with mash and peas. also need to do some baking.0 -
I wish I were brave enough to make a pie with the leftover chicken
i've stuck it in a tupperware container for lunches as I didn't know what else to do with it
oh well saves money on buying other meat I suppose! Weather is awful here too luckily the kids have shoes & wellies that fit :j although ds1's have seen better days  may get him some and keep for his birthday
looks like I got him more then that just the one present he currently has
