  • Afternoon all.

Not been on for a few days, been busy tidying up the garden adn spending time with the children as its the last full week of the holidays, can't believe how quickly it has flown by.

Sat/sun and yesterday were all NSD, so up to 18/42, only 3 to go to hit my target of 21 :j.

Yesterday we wnet blackberry picking, put these in the freezer and will get some apples and make blackberry and apple crumbles to see us through those cold winter evenings nom nom:D.

Nipped to Sainsbugs this morning to do a small top up shop to see us through to payday on Friday, used a £10 giftcard and £5 in nectar points, so only had to add £5.65 in cash to it:D, also spent £2.65 in the chemist as DD has a mouth ulcer :( and we needed some gel for it.

Chickens seem to have gone on strike and not laid the past 2 days so I've been to a local farm and bought dozen eggs for £2, so a baking afternoon ahead of me.

Still waiting on various payouts from survey companies, I seem to have really slogged with them the last few weeks but feel as though I havn't made that much:(.

I also managed to list an item on ebay yesterday, won't go for much but every penny helps.

    Take care pwps.x.
  • Have sat and done next months budget and due to some extra things to pay for I'm short by £62, this will be more if anything else crops up or if I don't stick to £25 a week petrol and £65 a week for groceries.

I am waiting for £25 from Springboard but don't think I will receive this until the end of Sept, £15 from Opinion People should get this in the next few weeks and £11.75 from panelbase due sometime next week.

May be able to cut back slightly on the grocery budget, but think it will be difficult as we are down to bare bones in the cupboard and need to buy lots of staple items to make meals.

Ebaying - might be able to rustle up a couple of items, but think this is going to be difficult as we really don't have much as we cleared out loads last year when we moved.

Need to get my thinking cap on.

    .

I always get mouth ulcers if I eat too many sweets
I usually put salt on mine . I wet my finger and then put salt on it and then press it on the ulcer, it hurts for about 5 seconds and then the relief is amazing. Make sure you have a glass of water handy to swill the mouth and a towel as you dribble alot :rotfl:
My DD is 10 and when she had one she did the same (with less salt) and she was fine (She can be a wuss at times!)

My chooks have also stopped laying, last night we collected two which was enough to have with our mini fry up but not enough to sell

If you are on Facebook would the items sell on your local selling page - the bonus with this is the people will collect and you have no fees?

Have you any Tesco clubcard vouchers? (Not ideal if you save for Xmas or days out but when needs must)

Are you still doing AdPoints as this might help with Nectar points which you can spend in Sainsburys?

Have you an Aldi/Lidl nearby as they are usually much cheaper than the big 4 so you might be able to save on the grocery budget?
  • Hi EE

Thanks for the tip about the ulcers, will try that next time.

Its not actually selling things thats the problem, it's finding things to sell?
Already shopping at Aldi, do adpoints thats where the points came from yesterday that I used in sainsbugs, have £1.50 in Tesco vouchers, will use next week when back at work to get milk as we have no Tesco near us.

I'm also getting really frustrated as I'm not overpaying any cards at the minute just paying the minimum ad this realy needs to change if i'm ever going to be debt free.

Received a £10 amazon voucher from harrispoll last night, so now have £20 in amazon account (kids didn't choose a book in the end), going to use this to get DD school shoes, which will free up £20 in the budget.

    Morning Pennywise,

Hope you manage to find some things to ebay. Im sure you will find a way with the budget, dont worry about it (easier said than done I know!)

Poor DD hope the ulcers are clearing up now.

  • Another place to remember is B&M Bargains if you have one. I popped in today and was gutted to see cheap hairbrushes etc that i'd just bought yesterday in Tesco for £s more:mad:. They even had school shoes!

Great tip on the mouth ulcers EE, my DD has one that has been hanging around for ages and i think it's too many sweets!
Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
    One Poll: £3.20
    My Survey: £0.00
    Ebay: £0.00
  • Thanks mummy and PWD.

Been back through the budget and with getting DD shoes from amazon its looking slightly better, I had underestimated a card minimum payment next month by a few pounds though, anyway I'm short by £52.75.

Will work it out somehow :undecided:think:
  • My ds1 gets them from cherry tomatoes! I use soluable paracetamol, break in half ( save money) and dip in water and put on ulcer whilst fizzing. Same principle as the salt really but slightly nicer tasting.

I'm torn with school shoes, found some nice cheap ones on eb4y but worried that they won't last and will turn into a false economy...........
    December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

    Weight loss: 1.5lbs
  • I know what you mean about shoes, but DD is now at the age where clarks shoes are no longer cool and wants shoes from places like new look and topshop, oh where has my baby gone, shoes she want are the same on amazon as a pair she has seen in new look.
