  • Evening Alice, thanks for popping by.

I don't feel terrible organised, I think I just want it out of the way so I can start over paying again.

Made a coffee and walnut cake this evening, except it ended up being a coffee cake as I remembered the walnuts after i had put it in the oven :o.

Managed to get 2 loads of washing dried outside:j, which I have ironed, need to put it away though it's all currently sat on the dining table, I'm also really sad and checked tomorrows weather forecast and its going to be dry so I can peg out again :j:rotfl:.

DS has seen the J0hn lew1s advert and has added a girl penguin to his xmas list as his pengi penguin now needs a girlfriend, off to look on eebay.

Hope you are well and had a lovely weekend. I know exactly what you mean about Christmas getting in the way of making payments lol. I love Christmas but I also would love to be out of debt :D

It comes in cycles, doesn't it? Some times you have low spend months and others just take the biscuit!

  • Hi lovely people, thankyou for popping by.

I'm :( that Paul has been sent home on X factor, he is a local boy and I wanted him to win, fingers crossed he goes on to bigger and better things.

Today has been a NSD (thank goodness), took lovely HM soup for work and fruit and everyone else had packed lunches from home, tonight we have had pork curry and rice for tea, kids and DH had ice cream for pud.

I have put CH on for half an hour to take the chill off the bedrooms before the kids go to bed, wood burner is roaring so down stairs is toasty warm and half just put on a load of washing and will get that on the airer before bed and leave in front of stove to dry.

Off to catch up with surveys, make packed lunches and put kids to bed, them i'm flaking out on the sofa.
  • £5 amazon voucher redeemed from myw0rd.
  • Evening peeps.

Another no spend day day, well sort of cos I gave DH £1.50 for badminton out of change jar as he had no cash and was going to get £10 out of cash point, which would of meant the other £8.50 would have been spent on carp, so a kinda saving in the long run IYSWIM :D.

DH and myself took Lunch to work again and kids had packed lunches, Tea tonight was soup and cheese panini's, so nice and simple.

Going to nip to Mr T after work tomorrow as I have a voucher for £4 off a £20 spend on groceries and a voucher for £2 off a £6 spend on everyday value items, so going to have a look online and make a shopping list, fingers crossed I can combine the 2 vouchers ;):).

Off to empty the washing machine and put on airers and make tomorrows packed lunches.

    Also better check online banking.

    Take care.x.
  • Hiya PWPS

I so know exactly what you mean about spending the other £8.50 on carp. My purse cash is strictly for bread, milk and sugar emergencies only. :rotfl: and I rarely have more than £5 in there. The other night I spent what seemed like an hour, but was more like 10 minutes feeding coins into the Tesco Express self serve machine. I had £4.62 of shopping, and £5 worth of 2s and 1s with a bit of silver mixed in.. people hated me. I don't care. I couldn't even close my purse it was so full beforehand!

I've also started wishing for the New Year. I like the fresh start and this year it will be far rosier looking than it was this time last year. I've already bought and wrapped 90% of the presents. Just one more friend and her 2 kids to buy for. Need to get my finger out and do that so I can have a look at what I am left with!

Coffee cake with or without walnuts is lovely! Hope you enjoyed :) have a lovely toasty evening x

  • Hi lilt, i've also done the pennies at he express till before, I don't care what people think, it's money and I have a right to spend it :rotfl:.

well done on getting 90% of xmas things bought you are very organised.
  • i'm so cold this evening, so I decided I was better off coming to bed and mooching on MSE with a hot cup of ginger tea, It's starting to work as I'm beginning to feel my toes again. DH is out and I've put kids to bed as they are spending tomorrow with grandparents, so wanted them to have a good nights sleep.

Couple of small spends today: £2 for CIN had to go to work in something yellow, also spent £1 on a cake as school had a cake stall to raise money for CIN and also spent £5 on 2 xmas presents for the kids, just stocking fillers.

Tomorrow I am child free for most of the day, so plans are to catch up on washing/ironing, bake cakes, make soup, cook braising steak, tidy bedroom, take photos of ebay items to list on sunday. Oh and to have some me time and catch up with some programmes I've not managed to watch:D.

Feeling a bit deflated as I'm not paying any extra off the debt which can't be helped until xmas is out of the way, trying to concentrate on the little things that can be done around the house to save money, turning things off and reusing and not wasting.

Hope everyone reading is ok, take care.x.
  • HI Penny...keep going..I agree with you about Christmas, no matter how organised one might be, you still feel there are those extras that might need buying.

I also am finding that the price of food is creeping up week by week.
