I used an epilator years ago only twice it hurt so much put it away might get it back out now after reading comments also on painkillers already so don't think it will hurt as much. The other thing put me off it says have to clean epilator with alcohol not going to just buy alcohol to clean it isn't there another way of cleaning it used the brush.

Mine doesnt mention cleaning with alcohol? (although a few comments have mentioned using it with alcohol! :rotfl:) All mine says is to use the little brush and/or run under the tap? Is yours a wet and dry? :)

A few years ago I tested an epilator (thanks to MSE) & got to keep it. Admittedly I went through the fear thing .... & I actually scream if I'm at hospital before they even touch me, so I'm pretty cowardly in that way. Although I only use it on my legs & it still stings slightly, I'm used to it now & I'm sure I actually enjoy it :o Just go for it, I usually find singing loudly can help :D

I tried it on my face once when I thought I had a moustache growing, bought tears to me eyes. I wouldn't use it down there though, the very thought of it! I do my legs once a week. Actually it took me years to shave under my arms as it made me feel really sick, so I used Nair. I can't do down there either as (soz too much info) I get a rash & itch, so I just trim it nicely :-/

Mine's exactly the same epilator :-D

:jThanks DUKE - there's hope for me yet then! I love the singing idea! will try that when I try to do my underarms later - I'll pre-warn my son though else he'll be making a phonecall thinking I've completely lost it! :rotfl:

I would like to get to the point where I can do down there too - but not to go totally hairless  cant imagine that much pain!

I'm going to try and stick with it, Ive seen a review online and they state that the first 3 times are the worst, due to the cycle of hair growth. I hope they not telling fibs! :D

I hope thats the case for me re the bikini area! :) strange isnt it how different peoples experiences are for doing different areas.

This epilator comes with a smaller one for 'delicate' areas it says on the box - doesnt look any less agressive than the main unit to be honest! :rotfl:

Well, I'm one of those 'strange' people who really don't mind it.

Have to say, the ankle area is a little on the 'ouch' side - but for me it was the same with waxing. I have never used it under my arms - but never waxed here either. For some reason I thought this would be too painfull for me to cope with. Have used it on bikini line - doesn't bother me.

Tend to use it about once a month.

    However
I invested in a NO NO! Best thing I ever did. It takes commitment, but hairfree heaven (~and totally painfree too!).
