Thankyou for those tips!
Its on charge now... gonna have some food then a shower, I'll report back. I may not need to actually type a response here, you may here my screems :rotfl:
Let us know how you get on, I'm intrigued again now, it would save shaving every couple of days if you can go a week or two within treatments.

It hurts like hell, the bits around the ankle make me want to scream . It does get less painful after a few uses but make sure the hair isn't too long or it will hurt even more :rotfl:.
In fact I found the best thing to do was shave my legs and then epilate them 2 days later, then the hair is short. Then I just run the epilator over them every day, only takes a few minutes.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
I can endorse all the advice about getting your pores open before you do the deed as otherwise mine tends to just break the hairs off rather than yanking them out ... And you DO get used to it after a while (although never on the underarms and bikini line - think bloodbath!). My problem (and why I've gone back to shaving) is the ingrowing hairs, red bumps etc I get despite trying everything to solve it. Such a shame, but spending all that time and ending up with hideous legs I couldn't show off anyway seemed a bit pointless!0

I have shaved all respective areas now for 20 years, and its giving me grief as time goes on. it was my doctor that advised an epilator/waxing, as i have had a few years of bother with ingrowers and general thickness of hairgrowth. sorry, that is just too much info, but wanted to say that this is bought on the back of that advice
wish me luck then :eek::rotfl:
Probably worth mentioning I have only ever had ingrown hairs on my legs when epilating, never shaving or waxing.
I don't know why it should be so different, but I found I was having to tweeze out ingrowns on awkward leg places all the time.
On bikini area the opposite was true, I did much better epilating for ingrowns, I just hated epilating there!0 -

I'd agree with the boiling hot bath before to make the hairs come out easier (I'm also gonna try the paracetamol trick!) I only did mine a week ago and the hairs are coming back so I do wonder why I bother, plus I end up getting some ingrown hairs!!
Oh well, the way I see it is if I can't face epilating my legs then giving births a no go so I push through to try and toughen up!!
you don't give birth every week though :rotfl:.0 -
Christ, I'd be taking 2 paracetamol and probably chased by a neurofen too! I'm no help, I passed mine onto my mum. She says it's no problem and doesn't hurt. Clearly her hairs must come out much easier than mine...must be an age thing :rotfl:0

I'm of the opinion that if you need to get medicated to remove body hair, that method is not for you
. Which is why I shave, and when I can't be bothered tweezing my eyebrows I pick up my tube of arnica gel and head off to the city centre to get them threaded (I can put up with that because its literally 2 minutes each eyebrow and they are done).

I love my epilator! I am an absolute pain wuss, but find that (far and away) the easiest way for me is little and often. I shave my legs fully (electric razor, I can't do blades) and then from the day after I do a quick epilate - once or twice over each leg every day with a proper going over once a week or so. I also have a cordless one, so I put the TV on with subtitles to distract.
It really does get better the more you do it! But I can't do underarms or anywhere intimate as I bleed0 -

I never realised I was so brave!
I have a Phillips epilator very much like the one in the Op and do errr, everywhere with it. Only extra piece of advice on top of that already here is to go in the direction if the hair growth the first couple if times. It will be less painful (not that I think it hurts tbh, although it did a bit to start with)
Then once you've 'womaned up' a bit, then go against the direction of the hairs0
