I've epilated for years, and just sit and watch TV whilst doing my legs (subtitles!) As it doesn't hurt. Even arm pits don't hurt any more, but other er... More delicate areas are eye watering.

Does it have an ice pack adapter with it? Just numb the area first, then have a hot shower to open the pores up to prevent ingrowing hairs.

    (I'm not particularly hairy though!!)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

anything that comes with an ice pack adapter should be viewed with suspicion :D

i can be waxed all day long
i gave birth without any pain relief 3 times
i have many tattoos and piercings
but i will never ever use an epilator again, tried it once, never again:eek:

    good luck OP:D

Gosh, that epilator looks swanky! :) I have a much cheaper, plainer Philips one. Honestly, it doesn't hurt any more than using tweezers does. (And you probably use/have used tweezers before, haven't you? Eyebrows, ingrowing hairs, etc?) It feels like tiny prickles, when you epilate - and only when the hairs are actually being pulled out. If you run an epilator over totally smooth, hair-free skin then it doesn't do anything.

Feels... a bit like pins-and-needles for a second or a fingernail scratch or... well, nothing worse than that. If it helps, the more "painful" bits are anywhere with minimal fat e.g. around your ankles. Calves don't "hurt" at all. Not that I'm suggesting you pile on the pounds to avoid your epilator stinging your legs!! lol

    :rotfl: Thankyou!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I bought an epilator a couple of years ago. It was an expensive one and could be used in the shower. This helped SO much. Legs got easy quite quickly, for me underarms remained a trio and bikini line made me see stars, I never got used to it. (For what it is worth, this pretty much is how I feel about waxing the respective areas too)

Sadly it broke, just about the time we were moving house and as I was getting into the swing of it. I haven't bought another, which suggests shaving seems less of a hassle than it used to.....

I have shaved all respective areas now for 20 years, and its giving me grief as time goes on. it was my doctor that advised an epilator/waxing, as i have had a few years of bother with ingrowers and general thickness of hairgrowth. sorry, that is just too much info, but wanted to say that this is bought on the back of that advice :o

    wish me luck then :eek::rotfl:
  • It hurts! I'm probably a massive wimp but I have tears in my eyes moments depending on which part of the leg I am doing!!

I'd agree with the boiling hot bath before to make the hairs come out easier (I'm also gonna try the paracetamol trick!) I only did mine a week ago and the hairs are coming back so I do wonder why I bother, plus I end up getting some ingrown hairs!! Oh well, the way I see it is if I can't face epilating my legs then giving births a no go so I push through to try and toughen up!! :D

I too have tried an epilator.

It turns out there is a heaven and hell after all.. and satan himself comes in a tiny box with all the promises of hairfree-ness.

    OUCH. OUCH. OWWW. OUCH. AHHHHHHH!

Finally got used to it on my calves, but that was it! I tried my more 'sensitive area'...

I cried. All alone. On my bed. With a bag of frozen peas inbetween my thighs.

    GOOD LUCK!!! :rotfl:
