You might find your results are in earlier than the 5 days, mine was done on wednesday morning and I had the first results friday afternoon.

  • I really really really really really want to stop throwing up. Really.

I was whining and moaning all day yesterday at work about how crappy I felt so I phoned in sick today and spent all day whining and moaning down the phone to my Mum/Sister/mortgage advisor. Ugh. Hubby made pizza for dinner, asked if I wanted some and I said, "SURE!"

I took one look at it and barfed. I hate this stage :(

Plus, I now haven't done a poo in 6 days. I swear I can feel it at my belly button.

Went to A&E. They did some blood tests and poked me. Said to come back on Friday for a scan.

Feelie, what colour is it? I'm sure it's fine hon, bleeding is common and if it's only spotting it's probably nothing to worry about, although you still will.

They don;t seem to hurry themselves over emergency scans in my experience, so try not to panic.

PM me if you want to but please just rest, lie down and put your feet up, and try to stay calm.

Thanks Skinty. It was bright red, just spotting with one small clot. Had back and stomach pain, but thats passed. I'm not bleeding now, so fingers crossed. He said that if I'm losing it, I'm losing it and there isn't anything that can be done. Very reassuring!

That sounds very worrying but if it has stopped it is probably OK - i did a LOT of googling when I first started to mc and discovered that even quite a lot of blood can be normal.

plus you are past 12 weeks now so you are really out of the main danger zone.

Unfortunately mc is so common the doctors are not at all sympathetic in my experience - lie down as I was told that can help stop bleeding, and get your OH to look after you tonight.

Stay lying down tomorrow. This keeps you calm(er!) and is good for baby.

It's awful to have to wait but they don;t rush you in for a scan as whatever is going to happen, will happen whatever they do. It's a bit heartless. Also, try not to keep going to the loo to check for blood - do your best to relax but also monitor it and if you are worried then call your doctor or hospital again and get arsey with them.

FG hope it's not a MC hun, I had one when DD was 18 months old, I was about 10 weeks gone:(As Skinty has already said the hospital don't seem to take any emergency steps, as they see it as being nature's way, which doesn't help does it hun?Fingers crossed you'll be ok though, as you're after 12 weeks gone:o

    Evening All!

I just popped on to catch up with everyones news, Boy was there lots!
Heartfelt hugs to those who need them and Big Congrats to newbies and New mommies!

Other reason I logged in was for a bit of a moan, Im twelve weeks today and the only person I have seen so far is my GP
I telephoned the midwife team last week to chase up my appointment and was told I shouldnt be bothering them until I was at the twelve week mark! Charming I thought, But one of the midwives called me today, at first she was really nice congratulating me and talking me through what would happen at the appointment, which was brilliant. Then when she was ending the call she told me where the appointment was, Its right on the other side of town (not my usual GP surgery round the corner, where previous midwife appointments have always been held- sure this was six years ago but I know there still there twice a week for the afternoon) At 3.30pm, So I explained that I would take it for now but I may have to rearrange as My son finishes school at 3.15pm so I would need to arrange for someone else to collect him for me, but if that wasnt possible then I was unsure I would be able to make it.
She then launched into a tirade about me already being twelve weeks and Im not the only pregnant woman in town and why did I think I could pick and choose my appointments! I was sooo shocked, I am feeling rather hormonal and emotional at the moment anyway and I almost burst into tears right there and then.
I just said ok then I will take the appointment whilst trying to hold it together, Later on the phone rings again and it was the midwife, she said oh I just wanted to check I told you 3pm earlier, (which she hadnt) So I said No it was 3.30pm So then it got changed, which is no big deal but I just thought after the way I was spoken to about picking and choosing and then her swapping and changine was a little cheeky!

Sorry for the moan, its probably just me, When you write it all down It doesnt seem all that bad But I was being perfectly friendly and nice and didnt like the way she just turned on me, I understand they are busy, but they have had plenty of time to speak to me and book me in. Im also a little concerned about my scan date Im guessing that Im going to be around 14 weeks before I get one and doesnt this mean I miss out on some of the tests and things? Or am I just worrying over nothing?

Thanks for reading if you got this far! hehe, rant over

    Hugs to all x x x

oh sparkle how rude of them! I didn't have any problems during pg with ds but I'm yet to tell my new GP surgery so no idea what they'll be like!
if your worried about scans call the hospital and speak to the sonography dept, you may be able to book it yourself and therefore get an app that fits in better than waiting for a letter and it being unsuitable. our local hosp allows you to just turn up if you are bleeding or not feeling movement and they'll squeeze you in within a hour usually so I don't see why they couldn't fit you in when its not your fault that it hasn't been sorted. Good luck x

Depends on wether they do a nuchal scan or not in your area , it is a bit of a lottery postcode ! If they do the nuchal it must be done by 13+6 so I would ring the ante-natal clinic at the hospital tomorrow and find out . If they say yes then ask to speak to the midwives as you need to book a scan through them .
