ooh where's the list??? Need to update it LOL.
Baby Florence and myself got readmitted - she with jaundice and me with an infection  but we are BACK home again. Ho hum not many people get to bring home the same baby TWICE :rotfl:

Skintchick hope you are doing ok, having a miscarriage is so common but one of the last taboos I think, and it does IMHO change your view of many things. I must admit I started TTC straightaway after my first period after the mc. it's just how myself and OH felt, thats what was right for us and you must do what is right for you.

I read over and over again the part from the teachings of the Dalai Llama that say some souls are just SO absolutely perfect they can only be with us for a short while. that is how I think of the pregnancy I lost. I thought I valued life a lot anyway but the whole experience made me value it even more.

Oh re. websites the babycentre one - cancel it if you go overdue cos you get emails saying 'your week old baby' which REALLY pee'd me off when it arrived in my inbox  also with Bounty you do NOT have to give them your child's name, it just means the marketing men already have a hold on your day old baby's personal details

(hugs everyone) gtg hungry baby to see to!

    I have done reading too!

Hope you and Florence are both feeling much better, and welcome back home! lol.

Good advice about the bounty thing. I don't think I'll be signing up to so much free stuff this time around, I've only just stopped getting junk inviting me to open a CTF for DD and she's 4 1/2 now, wouldn't be so bad but I invested her voucher about 2 days after it came through the post!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Haven't checked ina while so catching up...

Skintchick - So sorry to hear your bad news. Nothing to say that hasn't already been said except to look after yourselves and take things at our own pace.

Re: Pregnancy Sex - I had the same problem that most have (over and above the sickness that meant I didn't want to be touched in the first trimester) - My hubby was so convinced of his prowess he was worried he might give the baby brain damage until I got him sozzled one night and "persuaded him" he wasn't THAT great... (only time that arguement has ever resulted in sex)

    Hi all.
    Well, What a day yesterday!
I arrived at 4pm, didn't get seen until 6pm, finally left the hospital just after 8pm
I had 2 really indepth scans, one on the babys heart, then the other one was of the whole baby, the man who scanned me was absolutely lovely.
From what he could seee, the heart seems fine and everything with the baby is normal, the Nuchal fluid had decreased from 3.6mm to 2.4mm, he couldnt see the nasal bone but he said it could be due to the fact that it's still pretty early (12 +1) and it's common in black people, although i'm only half lol, we also heard the heartbeat!
    He seemeed pretty optimistic.

I then had the CVS, OMG it was one of the worst expreiences of my life! Ok so i'm probably overreacting but man it was scary, and the needle was flucking massive! they numbed the area but as soon as it passed through my skin I could feel it, I could also feel it 'pop' as it went into the sac _pale_
It was so hard not to be hysterical, but I had to remain really still, it took a few minuites and after we heard the babys heartbeat!

They gave me a couple of paracetamol and after 15 mins I was ready to go home, it's felt like a period pain on the left side of my tummy since last night which is normal, I've not had an bleeding which is also possible.

I've got to wait up to 5 working days for the preliminary results, which is for the downs, they also are testing for CF which can take 2-3 weeks, so hopefully this time next week I ill know the answer.
I also get to find out the sex if I want to, I done a cheeky and asked the man doing a scan if he could see the sex, he said he had an idea but wouldn't like to say, then his assitant told me to ask the sex when they phone me with the results.

I have to go back there for my 20 week scan so they can do the heart scan again, and have a cardiologist look too, their equipment is so high tech.
I'm so glad it's all over with and now I just have to wait for the results!

I think the worst part of the day was when I left, finding out I had to pay £9 to get out the car park! I nearly had a heart attack lol

I'm waiting for my first NHS scan, to have the Nuchal test thingy. Hopefully it won't take too long.

Glad the CVS went ok Astons, I did leave out the bit about the size of the needle on purpose :) It is a big old thing isnt it. I told people I was resting after being stabbed by the doctor, and to mind my stab wound :D

It sounds to me as if everything is just fine with the baby. I know it's hard waiting for the results, but you do get to find out the sex early which is great if you want to know. My midwife phoned and blurted it out as she was reading the fax to me. OOPs, never mind, we wanted to know anyway.
