  • Morning ladies!

This morning I am having a long lie in bed :D In exchange for me attending a 40th birthday party last night that I wasn't really up for :o hubby has taken DSS out for the morning so I can relax (although have to say I am feeling like a lazy slob :D )

Good news is that DH said he is seriously considering my wishes to find out what we are having  he actually said that we would find out but he was in drink so I said we would talk about it again when he is sober ;)

To be honest I hadn't really started to work on him yet but I have been telling other people in earshot that I wanted to know and about my fear of surprises (which he knows about but doesn't understand!). He said he definitely didn't want to know until the 20 week scan though which seems fair enough...

We will see what he has to say later...might take him out for dinner to discuss - my treat ;):D

Hope everyone is well - and elle_gee - I am eating 2 grapefruit a day and it is doing me wonders IYSWIM

  • MFD, our PCT doesn't offer s@xing until the 20w scan so we had to wait it out till then (and even longer until our 4D one with Poppy!). We were determined to find out much to my Mum's disapproval!. She didn't want to know with Poppy and doesn't want to know this time so neither do the rest of my family in case they slipup! DH's family and all my friends know so it should be interesting at Poppy's christening in two weeks time!

I either read here (or in one of my numerous preg mags or tv progs :o) that one couple asked the sonographer to write the s@x down and seal it in an envelope so the option was always there to find out . In the end they opened it on xmas morning :D (bless!).

Enjoy the rest of your lie in! :T

    Afternoon all..

OH went out at 1am for apricots and sultana bran. Apricots have had some effect so that's good... :o This better all be worth it!

My friend sent me a pic of her little boy this morning and a txt saying he'd put mushroom risotto in his hair then added fruit puree on top, all before 8am :D

MFD, I have issues with surprises as well, I was so convinced we were having a boy that I was worried if I waited until B day and was then presented by a girl I'd give her back! (No, really!)

Lucky really as as signs point to girl so far! Oh and Himself didn't have any strong feelings either way so was happy for us to ask :-)

Anyway, I don't think they can actually (usually) tell you until the 20 week scan (although I could be wrong I often am!), and some PCTs don't like to tell you anyway! (It's not a precise science and I think some of them worry that you'll sue or something if they tell you the wrong thing!) Gosh that was a bit doom and gloom! Sorry.

Elle, glad things are moving a bit for you! Bless your OH and his mercy dash! If it gets really bad (r generally just bad enough) you can get stuff from your midwife as well that shows your bits who's boss! ;-)

I found out at 20 week scans with my other two. DS they could see a definate willy!, with DD they didn't think they could see a willy, so it was probably a girl, but not definate - so i suppose it depends on how co-operative baby is being and whether there is anything to see.

My 20 scan is 22nd Sept, I want to know, OH doesn't but i've got 7 weeks to work on him. I'm going to try and make it our secret, but how we'll not slip up to family for the remaining 20 weeks, i don't know!

    wow ive missed alot.
im not sure if anyone is thinking of baby carying with slings or wraps to those that are i highly recommend it,i went to a slingmeet and immediatly went and brought a moby baby wrap and i love it so easy to use and so pratical.
what i would like to say please if u are interested in sling etc dont get a bag sling they arnt not at all safe or comfy they sell them in argos please dont get them they squash the baby and dont give enough air etc not trying to scare people here but they are useless.ringslings are great so is wrapping and mie tie's.the babasling is rubbish we brought that and its the same problem as the bag slings doesnt feel safe and doesnt support baby at all.
i wish id heard of baby wrapping, ringslings, and mie ties with my other 2 means i dont need my buggy hardly ever now as its just so much easier with a wrap and they are supported better unlike carriers that go between the groin these are on the bum. the babywearer and slingmeet site's are great.
    hope everyone is well x

    Thanks for that Honey.
I've been thinking I'd really like a sling or a papoose (think thats the right spelling) esp for keeping hands free and keeping baby close.... bbut I hadnt thought much more other than quite liking the idea so will keep your advice written down xx

Thank god I am not the only one Fritha - I know exactly what you mean about the worry. I am not at that stage at the moment but I would rather not live with the worry of how I will react IYSWIM. Hubby's jokey comment was that it wouldn't be a surprise, it would either be a boy or a girl  This brought tears to my hormone-charged eyes and I think he began to realise that it could end up being a big issue for me.

To be normal would be boring :D

I'm gonna get him a book for expectant Dads I think;) :D
