The spotting is coming and going. When it's there it's more evident than before but that in a way is better as I can now tell the colour - dark red

Lots of good luck and baby dust for tomorrow, elle x

Hi all.. I'm back from the scan.

I'm measuring 6+0 - I thought I was 9+6! I've got to go back for a repeat scan next Tuesday morning to see if I'm 7+0 by then (I'm not kidding myself - I know it could be a case of stopped growing then, but we'll wait to see..)

I had a belly scan and an internal this morning. The internal showed a much better view - definitely a sac there, but they can't quite tell what's in it (but there is something) so I'm going back next week, hoping it's bigger with a heartbeat. I think I've read somewhere you can't always get the HB at six weeks.

Spotting was heavier this morning so I was crawling the walls. Then the last time I went to the loo before the hospital, there was nothing, also nothing when I went between scans, and then nothing once I got home - ARGH! Driving me mad.

Also found out my blood group - I'm A negative, so need the Rhesus jab, what joy! I've had more blood tests today and if everything is okay next week, they'll probably give me the jab then. Something to look forward to!

I'm going to take it easy today then go back to work tomorrow. I've been told to phone the unit if the pain gets so bad that paracetamol won't take it away or if I'm going through a pad an hour.

I feel much better now, but I'm still not ruling out the above possibility. Still, if that's what's happened, I can't change it now, so worrying will do me no good either way.

Thank you all so much for your support! Hope the rest of you are well :)

SB, how did your scan go? Was baby playing ball? :D

    Hello everyone

elle_gee - I know it's hard not to worry, but I had a similar experience to you. I was under the impression that when you got pregnant, you simply didn't have periods. Then when I found out I was pregnant, I started spotting (although I referred to it as smudging as that's all it was). I never needed to use towels or tampons as it wasn't that heavy, but I was running to the loo to double check every half hour!

When I went for an early scan (as I panicked and my mum was abroad so couldn't ask her), they found an egg, but not much else. They said I was 5 weeks along and I had been convined I was 7 weeks (we'd been trying and so I knew all my dates). I was told to come back in 2 weeks time and they would do another scan. They were quite clinical, think the lady's actual words were "Come along and we'll see if this pregnancy will continue" or something like that.

Anyways, just thought I'd let you know that. You might just not be as far as you thought you were. Good luck and let us know. I'm 28+6 weeks pregnant, so I'm doing alright so far!

Gem - let us know what happened to your tooth!!!!

  • Well.......

    I'm joining Team B L U E !!!

Still hasn't sunk in really as DH and I were convinced it was another girl and were fully prepared for the sonographer to, yet again, say she couldn't tell! :D

Not very MSE of me really as I won't be able to recycle most of Poppy's mountain of 'stuff'! :rotfl:.

All is good with my BP too and the consultant doesn't need to see me again unless the MW is concerned - yay! :)

Hi Elle - I hope everything goes ok on tuesday for you, just get plenty of rest and try to stay positive.

SB - Are you made up it is going to be a boy??? that's one of each for you then, are you planning on more or stopping at two now you've got one in each colour!!

    Mel x
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
  • Elle - make sure you have got your feet up and keep resting as much as possible. Try not to stress and look after yourself, next Tuesday will be here before you know it (above all remember that for every bad story there are far more good stories - our brains block out that bit sometimes)

September Baby - I take it baby boy was co-operative today then! Was he waving his widgie for all to see?!! :D

Elle, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly next Tuesday and a little 7+0 is bobbing around in there.

SB, you know, if I had to have placed money on what gender you were getting I would have chosen a boy! Which is impressive as that practically guaranteed you'd get a girl! If it helps my DH keeps telling me that not putting a boy in pink is a modern thing, many years ago pink was a boy's colour so, bung the poor love in all the pink stuff and say you're going retro ;-)

Hooray for your BP though :-)
