Hi all
8 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 so early days yet (has been 5 years since I was last pg) so thought some of you guys might know:
Do they still advise you not to lay baby on tummy to sleep?
Do they still offer a 12 week dating scan?
How much do these 4D nuchal scans cost and when do you have them as they weren't available when I was last pregnant and they look v exciting!
Thanks x0 -
Hi galvanizersbaby! Congrats and welcome to the thread.
Yes, the current advice is to put baby on its back in the 'feet to foot' position (I think thats what its called anyway!) meaning baby's feet at the bottom of the moses basket/crib.
My area offer 12w dating scans but there are some that don't, just the 20w one.
Not sure how much a nuchal scan costs. I had a 4D vanity scan with Poppy here http://www.beforethestork.info/packages.html which may give you a rough idea of prices.

Hi & welcome, i'm on no.3 too.
As far as i know, its still 'back to sleep'.
The scans i think, depend on your area. My NHS trust offers them at 10 and 20 weeks.
There's a link for the 4d scans higher up this page - they start at about £60, but i'm not sure about them, its a bit wierd for me!:beer:0 -
When did everyone start telling people?
I'm 8 weeks and have just had an appt through for my scan which isn't until 2 Sep, we had wanted to wait until after the scan to
tell people but I don't think we will make it that far.
The reason we wanted to wait was because we wanted to tell our DD first and let her have the job of telling people.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
Thanks ladies
I had a nuchal scan with my daughter and I am 35 so plan to have one in a few weeks with this baby - I know where to go and how much for the nuchal - actually wonder if the same place do the 4D scans? - worth finding out
Know what you mean 3onitsway - I'm not sure if I liked the gallery images or not - might just freak me out a bit!
Septemberbaby - my 2 children are close together - hard work at first but it's paying off now - they are really close x0 -
keely-bleeding is heavier the more u have but first time it can be a bit of a shock the more walking and more mobile u are the heavier it is.there can be clots but ur midwife will tell u anything bigger than a 50p piece and u should speak to your midwife as u can get infections which is what i had but they go if caught quick which they usually are as a midwife and health visitor check u for a few weeks after.

Hi millie's mum
We have a little debate about this every now and then! Many people tell as soon as they find out, which I did with my first preg, but unfortunately I miscarried at 10w . I have since waited until the 12w scan to announce both my subsequent pregs as seeing others upset made me even more upset (if that makes any sense!).
Time really does fly though! I'm 20w now and can't believe I'm already half way there!
Best of luck...my family said I deserved an Oscar for disgusing my preg with Poppy! I was sick as a piggy but somehow managed keep the secret!0 -

Thanks, galvanizersbaby. I know I'm going to have my work cut out for me but I didn't want a big age gap between them and I'm not getting any younger either!. My two sisters and I were born all within 3 years and are extremely close so I'm hoping mine will really bond too.
Hoping to find out if Poppy's getting a bro or sis tomorrow morning!

Hello all, I'd like to join in as my DD2 is pregnant, her first, and the date of birth is March 12th, early days but so excited. She is a full time Nanny and one of the children has Rubella, DD had her first Antinatal app y/day but I don't know the outcome yet. Hope to hear today.
:hello: Candygirl, thanks for this link.
Hi betheebee and congrats on being a nanna-to-be! :j. Hope all went well yesterday.
