I had a home birth just under 3 weeks ago, it was a great experience. I think if you are scared of hospital, you are more likely to be stressed during labour. Please don't let people scare you out of a home birth if it's your choice, the midwives are well trained and if there is any reason for concern they can usually recognise it at an early stage and transfer you into hospital if that's where you need to be.

Sheel-she is so adorable!! it doesnt seem a minute since my youngest niece was that small....she's going to be 4 in december its gone so quickly! my sister is feeling quite sad that she wont be having any more, but was over the moon that we're expecting and she'll be an aunty again!

Wow, that website is fantabulous! Very helpful. Not completely accurate, but very helpful all the same. For Watford, it says there are two scans, 12 weeks and 20 weeks, but I never got a 12 week one!

There's a birthing centre there. Maybe when I next see the midwife next Wed, I'll ask her if it's likely I'll be in there or in the hospital.

On a separate point, my feet have suddenly ballooned, they look really strange!!!

No , can't say I was anxious as she had a really straightforward pregnancy. She didn't stop smoking straight away though which I didn't like , but she stopped after a few weeks. Silly mare's started again now though :rolleyes:

Hiya all, i've not been on much (been so, so tired and in bed snoozing by 8.30pm most nights!!) Just thought i'd let you know we had a scan today....our little yannis (concieved in greece hence the nickname) is 9.33mm and its heart was beating away. Yolk sac etc in the right place and all looking good-i actually feel like i can relax now. My dates are still the same at the mo so im 7+2 just waiting for the 12 weeks scan now.xx
