Elasticated trousers!:rotfl:. Your most comfiest and loyal pair
.
Also, can I just add, try and make sure the bath towel and PJ's you take in are a darkish colour (for obvious reasons). I also popped a pack of value 'full' knickers from Tesco/Asda into my trolly each week. I had no inclination to wear paper ones (due to what my bits had to endure!) and wore two maternity towels and two pairs of nics at all times. Far too stressful thinking about little accidents! I simply threw the ones away that were beyond repair :rotfl:. Do not underestimate how many maternity towels you will need!
However, I swapped to Always night time ones after a while when the bleeding calmed down .
Re home births, I couldn't possibly have contemplated one. I was and still am too scared!. The hospital I chose is a specific womens hospital. Its by no means the nearest but I wanted the best specialist care for me and baby in the event of things going wrong. In the end I had an emergency forceps delivery with Poppy

Totally agree with this post. I still looked 7 months pregnant for about a week post birth and am still wearing my maternity clothes now. This scared the !!!! out of me with DS1 because I wasn'r prepared for it at all!
This time I just took always night time pads to hospital cause they provide the "bricks" and once I was able to change my own pad and sort myself out I wanted something thinner and more comfortable.
Carol - I probably need to move threads now too but keep coming back to see what's going on with everyone!Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...0 -

Hi all,
Does anyone know how much of smp is taxed, i've herard its based on earnings but dont understand how its worked out.
Candygirl, I think u can tell by ultrasound the sex of the baby from 16weeks, but DD would have to go privately for it (not very MSE!!). However, others on this forum have had 4D scan and said its well worth the money.

No offence taken, Candy! I can talk - my dog is called Henry! :rotfl:
Here is a link to the 4D scan centre that I went to with Poppy to give you and idea. It really is amazinng and I loved every minute. They couldn't tell the s@x at my 20w NHS scan and we just needed to find out!

I have my 20w scan on Friday and I'm so hoping this baby poses better this time!
Sheel, she is absolutely beautiful!. Can you ever imagine life without her now?! (PS: good luck to your niece! x).
Olliesmummy, so glad all is well with 'Yannis'!
Keely, my bleeding was very very heavy and 'things' came out whilst in the shower, on the loo etc. I have really light periods so it was more of a shock for me I think!.
Sorry, lwcus, don't know about the tax thing but I'm sure someone will!

Hi Keeley
Yeah It was a shock to me re the blood after. TMI but i'd been sat down a while and stood up, a river started flowing ewwww. I don't remember clots until maybe 4-5 days after.
My friend who had epidurals on her 1st & 2nd said she didn't have a river those times, maybe it was cos she was immobile longer, guess she had a cathater wotsit (no awards for spelling for me!) but she did on her 3rd where she had no epidural.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Hello all, I'd like to join in as my DD2 is pregnant, her first, and the date of birth is March 12th, early days but so excited. She is a full time Nanny and one of the children has Rubella, DD had her first Antinatal app y/day but I don't know the outcome yet. Hope to hear today.
:hello: Candygirl, thanks for this link.0 -

Keelykat -My experience with 2 c-sections bleeding very heavy first few days  but managed not to flood through industrial size pad - from what I hear the bleeding is not supposed to be as bad with a vaginal birth though I've no experience of this myself x0
