Galvanizersbaby - did you have your booking appt at home then, lucky you not having to trapse to a clinic....Well, except you wouldn't of minded squirting blood all over their floor hehe....

Angelfairy - OW you poor thing 4 times is a bit much. My arm is bruised from where she was poking around in it because the vein had moved!!!

I also have a heap more to read, I just wish this scan date would hurry up now.....

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Yes - it was a hospital midwife but I think the next time I will see her at 16 weeks she will be at my docs surgery (if she hasn't gone off on maternity leave by then!)
I have to say I haven't been very good in my past pregnancies at keeping up the midwife appointments  - I am having this baby by caesarian section so I will see the consultant gynacologist in the next couple of weeks.

Re the scan - it's all changed at my hospital since I had my daughter 4 years ago - you can now have the nuchal scan on the premises for free (in the past you had to pay for it privately at a local private hospital) so that's a definite improvement.

Have any of you ladies heard anything adverse about colouring your hair when pg?
I distinctly remember previously there being some advice against this?!
  • GB, I've found this link:

    http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/colourorpermhairexpert/

I coloured my hair through my last preg and this one but maybe left the roots a bit longer than they should have been left just in case its decided it really is a no-no :rotfl:.
  • Thanks Septemberbaby - opinions seem to be divided on this one
I've posted the question on the health and beauty board so if I get any replies from hairdressers I will post on here.

Well, baby is definately Poppy's sibling! :rotfl:S/he totally refused to play ball!. I'm still in Team Lemon for the time being :p

lol at new baby SB! Ours was fairly similar I could have sworn she kept trying to moon us, occasionally we'd just see this bum looming into vision on the screen! ;-)

Hopefully (s)he will have a good spread out over the weekend so you can see bits properly! :-)

I asked my midwife about this earlier on in my pregnancy, she said you would have to swim in industrial quantities to have any unsafe effects.

I did get it dyed, having checked with my hairdresser also and the colour did not really take on my hair, probably due to the hormones. I think the reason that colouring and perms are not advised, is because of the adverse effect of the hormones on the hair and the way the colour/ perm turns out.

most hairdressers wont touch pregnant peoples hair with treatments like colouring or perming etc unless you agree to sign a waiver if it goes wrong as pregnancy really effects hair in different ways.
