Congratulations! Wow. Two children with the same birthday. Can't work out if that will make it simpler for you or more difficult when they are older!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Well i'm off to see the consultant again this afternoon, to keep a check on my blood pressure and meds for that etc.
In a way it seems not far away but then it does and i panick lol.... will be a mom soon!
When are others going to get their's and babys bags packed ready for the hospital? im going to start sorting that out soon, as i like to be well prepared.

I had my ten week booking in appointment last week at hospital, the usual, dating scan, blood, wee etc.
On saturday i received a letter from the hospital telling me that my urine sample contained an infection, and my doctor has been informed. I'm to call at my doctors to collect a prescription.
After worrying for the weekend, and being told by everyone, not to worry its just a water infection, I've just phoned the doctors to see if my prescription is ready to pick up. The receptionist said my doctor wants to discuss it with me and to come in for an appointment tomorrow.
Anyone had anything similar and should i be worried?
Update from my post above!!
Went to the doctors this morning, slighly panicing! Doctor said its nothing to worry about, there was a borderline sign of infection and if i've had no symptoms (trouble with weeing, pain etc), which i haven't, he'll take another sample and check it again.
Anyway, what got me mad, was a so called friend, when i told her this morning i was going to doctors and was a bit worried about water infection, tells me that her 'friend' was in hospital for 7 months with a water infection while pregnant, and another 'friend' miscarried because of a water infection and its quite common!!!!! Do i need to hear this?
Mentioned to this to the Doctor, and that the original letter had worried me, and he said he's never heard such !!!!!!!! (My Dr is great!!). Anyway, this friend is one of those people, if she's not had every incurable life threatening illness, she knows someone who has! :rotfl:
Anyway - why didn't she just SHUT UP!!!
Ooh - i feel better now after that. x:beer:0 -
UTI's are common and easily treated with antibiotics 3onits way, dont worry.
Gte them to check your urine again, and if you do have an infection they can give you the antibiotics to clear it up. there shouldnt be any problems. its when left untreated that its not good.
Some people love 'scaring' ladies with stories of bad things that have happened, best not to listen and if in doubt ask your gp/midwife again and again for answers until you are happy.Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
Hope you're feeling better today, miss_coreupted. I used to take a long soak in the tub with my preg bubble bath if I had any aches and also you can take paracetamol. Talk to your MW if you still don't feel right x
3onitsway, don't you just love 'friends' sometimes! :rotfl:. I'm sure everything is just fine. I've only ever had one UTI in my life and thats whilst preg with Poppy. It was cleared within a few days with anti-b's but Dr did say that its extremely important to get these things checked out though as they can cause early labour!. Maybe this is what your friend was thinking about (but likes to exaggerate just a tiny incy bit!).

Good luck at your consultant apt Keely
As for the hospital bag, mine is now ready and waiting to go. Had a huge scare this weekend, sharp horrible strong period type pains in my lower abdomen, coupled with nasty pains in my backside/ladybits (tmi alert lol) was convinced for a good few minutes i was in full blown labour (had a few episodes of slight pink spotting in the past 2 weeks too). Managed to roll myself out of bed, although at one point i was literally frozen in pain (and fear!) and paced around the bathroom for a few minutes in a blind panic. Luckily the sharp pains eased off.... and i'm now left with dull background kind of pains in my bits, and odd twinges of cramping. I am now convinced everything's gearing up for an early arrival, although i am praying it holds out til 1st Sept at the very least (i desperately want a Sept baby for schooling purposes) All very frightening stuff at just 32 weeks, and enough to kick start me into giving DH his list of last few bits he needs to collect from round the house should things turn into a quick emergency, and into finishing the hospital bag (which embarrassingly has now been promoted to an actual suitcase, because i was getting sick of trying to squash everything into a holdall...the hospital will prob turn me away when i turn up looking like im off to Spain for 2 weeks!)
Huge congratulations to all the new arrivals on this thread since the weeks ago i last posted! xx0 -
3onitsway-i had lots of uti's with my son that went untreated and had to go into hozzy all they did was put me on a drip for a few days and it was cleared up that happened twice same with my lil girl but this time had a good doctor who was on top of things and it was treated quick with anti-biotics.ive never heard of them causing miscarriage, occasionally they can trigger early labour but dont think this happens often and think its when its left untreated.ignore your friend hun shes telling porkies xxriley john born june 28th 2.35pm-8lb14.5 hour labour from waters to birth.0

*falls about laughing* I keep reading the lists of stuff you're sposed to need and it rather makes me think a suitcase is more apt!
Anyway, I have no clue where I picked this tip up (and I apologise if it ruins your carefulyl packed hospital suitcase) but I'm planning on packing a labour bag and then a bag if I have to stay in longer (which can stay in the car or somewhere until it's needed) I'm kidding myself that will mean one small bag and one larger bag but I rather think it may end up being two suitcases! lol Well, it's difficult to pack light when there's three of you and you don't know what the weather's going to be like, as it were! :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
