I have pretty much done nothing all day. I have a head out one side and two feet sticking out of the other side. Transverse baby making mummy look like Sponge Bob Square Pants :eek: :eek:

Hello

Dont often get the time to post on here, but Im always reading the threads....
Imcurrently 37 weeks pregnant for the second time and the baby is breech.
Bottom down first position.
MW also said that baby is large so they are talking about a c-section for me:eek: .
I had a natural birth the last time and im really panicing about the c-section!
Anyone out there who has had one?
Is it as bad as some posters on other sites ae saying?
My mum had one years ago, but she can hardly remember all the details.
Also does anyone think there is any chance my baby 'might' turn around at this late stage?

Just to say I had a section 2 years ago and have another one booked for 17th July.

Feel free to pm me for more info but basically a planned section is a very calm affair and they are not trying to operate on a contracting uterus so they tend to be much more straight forward than emergency ones.

Spinal block was uncomfortable but not unbearable.

5 minutes and baby was out.

Cleaning up my insides made me feel a bit sick but didn't hurt. Stitching up took about 35 minutes but was too busy with DS to notice.

I was up and about that evening - this was the worst bit - it did hurt and I did wonder if everything was going to hold but it did and once it was over everything became much easier.

I was in hospital for 5 days which actually was a good thing because being my first it gave me a chance to master breastfeeding while the midwives were around.

I know this is just my expereince but I just wanted to give you something positive to think about.

Try not to worry too much and good luck.

My sister had three c-sections, one emegency and two planned/booked. All went well even the emergency one.

Ive heard of babies moving position towards the end though

Please do not stress too much about the c-section option. I had a 'natural' birth with my daughter, an emergency c-section eight months ago with my son and I am planning an elective c-section this time round as well.

I can honestly say I healed far quicker from the c-section than I did from the 34 hour labour first time round. I have jumped at the chance to have another c-section.

I was up and about within about 8 hours to go to the toilet (its all a bit hazy) and was totally mobile within 12 hours. The only thing I found annoying was not driving for the first four weeks - and obviously the fact that I still have trouble lifting anything heavier than a kettle ;-) (Trust me I milked the fact I couldnt do/lift anything with my DF for as long as I could).

I can totally see why the phrase 'too posh to push' was coined!

hi sampainter.

I've not been here long either - but the only reason I've not added myself to the list is that I don't have an EDD yet!!! I'm not getting my scan for another 5-6wks, but I'm 9wks approx. Lothian region is renounded for being rubbish with their antenatal care!!!
