Hi ladies, haven't really posted much lately.

Im off to see the midwife tomorrow, will be 25 weeks then. Time seems to be going faster at the mo.

We've painted the 'nursery' and put up the cot bed that my parents and nan brought us, we've also got the travel system in there for now (MIL and sister brought us). Luckily lots of people have been helping us out-buying us usefull things (we researched and chose the items, was given the money to get).

About two weeks ago-my mom's best friend handed over two boxes full of handmade blankets and clothes (ie cardigans, jackets, mittens and hats). She'd been secertly making them for me since the end of last year as she knew we were ttc! I'm really pleased with them!

We've also brought a few smaller bits and bobs, seeing as there's only a few months left (scary thought!) and my husband told me we should start getting things sorted out. So we picked up some bargains in a clearance matalan-they had baby clothes at buy one get one free, at silly prices. So we picked up various sizes in neutral colours-as baby wont stay newborn size for long! We used some of my Boots vouchers (off pigsback etc) to get nappies, bath things, cotton balls, some dummie etc!

Im feeling a lot more prepared now-im allowing myself to get excited now and look at things in shops. Tonight i'm off out to eye up some mobiles for the cot and some play mats for baby to play on on the floor etc.My OH is letting his excitement show too now-i love seeing him like this. At the begining he was so chilled out-i often wondered if he even cared! But now i know he is really excited!

Hope everyone else is doing ok with their pregnancies, and new babies!

    keely.

ps-we got our travel system and cot bed from a small local shop-proved to be so much cheaper but still well known names. Its a good idea to look in the less obvious of shops-we thought small shop=big prices, we were wrong!

pps-my heartburn is still here! im on my next bottle of gaviscon now!

    Hi,
I haven't really posted on here before, but I'm sitting with my feet up (doctor's orders because of high blood pressure) and I'm feeling pretty bored. My maternity leave only started on Monday and I'm due next Tuesday - I'm really glad I didn;t finish work any earlier.
I haven't had any signs of the baby putting in an appearance at all and am starting to think that it'ss end up being late. What signs did other people have before going into labour?

    Jenza8,

sitting around just waiting for that date is horrible isn't it? My signs before the last 2 labours were lots of braxton hicks every night (just around the time I would want to go to bed, we'd stay up thinking this might be it  ). I also started nesting madly, & would be awake at 4am making food for the freezer, & painting parts of the house I could still reach. Then I started on the ironing, doing things I never normally do like duvet covers and muslins and tea towels.

Finally, 2 hours before my youngest was born I was on a ladder cleaning shelves, before finally being persuaded into hospital. I was a woman possessed. Oh well, in January it'll be about time to clean them again :D (2 1/2 years since the last time)

I can't ever imagine feeling compelled to do the ironing, although my DH would love it if I did

    hya all

due on saturday cant believe how fast the pregnancy has gone, i have no signs wat so ever about going into labour (however its my 1st so i may be mistaken - defo no cleaning like a mad woman ironing or anything apart from gettin really emotional) apart from pressure pains, they are so bad god knows how im going to survive labour if i think him engaging is so painful.

will be having a sweep either on tuesday or thursday (have antenatal on tuesday midwife has said if they dont do it she will be doing it on thursday and booking me in for the 10 day overdue appointment).

well spent the whole week feeling that I haven't achieved a thing. I've been so sick and nauseous that just having a shower and dressed was hard!

Anyway - today was up and dressed before 10am and tesco delivered the much needed shopping. ordered lots of ginger things and fruit and veg and seem to be feeling much perkier - after 2 weeks though I feel I deserve a day off!!!!!

Going to try and get out for a walk this afternoon for some fresh air - setting the postbox as my goal :D

getting much harder to keep it from friends and family as we keep getting invited to alcohol fuelled parties/gatherings and people want to catch up over dinner and I've run out of excuses as to why I'm not drinking and hiding the fact I can't wat anything that has any smell or flavour without throwing up. It's so hard - I want to tell, but really am so scared to beacause it's still early days - on the other hand I'd love to tell a friend and have someone other than hubbie to confide in :D when did you all tell the important people in your lives????

r mac, I must admit I told important people pretty much straight away, less important had to wait until after the first scan (and everyone was banned from telling anyone without asking first). I was told a good theory, tell people who you'd tell anyway if you had a miscarriage, so for us that was close family and friends :-)

I haven't updated on here for ages! Had the 20 week scan weeks ago now all went very very well and they think it's probably a girl! Baby has started kicking more frequently and so much harder you can even see it sometimes! Himself managed to feel her kicking one day after determinedly sitting with his hand on my tummy! lol
