thanks for all the tips folks. we were going to wait until 12 weeks as I thought I'd be having a scan then - however in my region you only get 1 scan unless there are major problems and my scan will be at 16 weeks!

I have to say that I am a bit put out about it - a midwife won't even speak to me until that appointment and I have soooooo many questions!!!

Still as sick as a dog and it's definately hard to keep it from others - going to tell my parents when we see them in about 2 weeks, and try and hold off with DH's parents - they will be so excited they'll shout it from the roof tops, so no going back or keeping it quiet once we've told them (Actually think my life will become hell once MIL knows - i'm not looking forward to it).

Keep us updated if you can Clarkey! I know I probably won't be able to function property to get on my computer when my times comes!

Just wondered if there was anything I can take for my moods? I constantly feel like I'm going to swing at my bf. Sometimes I think he's making it worse and doesn't back down when he should as my hormones are all over the place, but other times I do feel that it's all me and I just can't stop being the way I am. He's said he's never getting me pregnant again as he can't cope with the mood swings. I'm jump from shouting at him to crying and I hate feeling out of control.

Before I was pregnant, I never even had PMS as I was on a certain pill where everything just stopped. So I feel all out of sorts all the times and I hate it. I feel like I'm going to be a prime candidate for PND!

we told everyone straight away. my thinking is if anything happened, i'd want the support from friends and family. i also work in a high risk job and work with some dangerous chemicals, so my boss needed to know so i could avoid those products.
i'm 22 weeks now, and i have the biggest verucca on my foot free with a swim at the local pool grrrrr, am going on thursday to have it frozen off, and on friday i'm having a mole removed from my leg as it's new and the dr wanted to check it out. but on a happier note were off on our 1st family hoilday on sunday! we're taking our 19 month old to france for 2 weeks and i'm so excited! just need to get a few bits now as i'm too fat for my normal clothes so i need to get some maternity shorts. nearly fainted when it cost me £25 for a maternity swimsuit!!

ebay i cant stress ebay enough i got a maternity swimming suit for £5.00(hadnt been worn) also new look have some lovely maternity things.

the wedding was better than expected i was worried as it wud be the first time my dad had seen me in nearly 2 years and first time he met my oh and his family but it was really good.he decided to pay for mine and my sisters hair and make up and he brought everyones food and drinks at the pub we went he even seemed proud of me when he walked me down the aisle.im hoping hes going to have more to do with me and the family now :D

polly-the best thing i can suggest is walking away when u feel ur anger or hormones surging easier said than done sometimes i know.try writing down how u feel even if its just something u see as silly u may escalate it later but if u write how u feel at the time u can read over it and u wont see it as such a big deal.

Just thought I'd butt in on this thread to say you can watch The Business of Being Born here for free. Obviously it is mainly based on the American setup but it's still well worth watching.

5 hours after posting my last post my waters broke however the baby was in distress so it was meconium that was at 2am will fill you in rest of details when i feel up2 it, finally had emergency c-section at 11.01am (started cutting me open when drugs hadnt even took effect) where he was born with cord wrapped around his neck twice and instead of being positioned straight down he was positioned at an angle. anyways hes fine now but will fill you in on my horror birth story later, its a bad story but new cross hospital saved my babys life
