clarkey1000 wrote: »Hi everyone,
I did write a post on Monday but then the power went and I lost it and haven't got round to writing it again till now!
I am now the pround mummy of a baby boy called Oliver James who was born at 6.08pm on Saturday.
I'd been having contractions since 6.30pm on Friday and eventually went into hospital at 3pm on Saturday when they began to really hurt (they hadn't been close enough together for it to be worth going in any earlier). Once in hospital they broke my waters for me and at about 4.30 I got into the big bath for my water birth and then at 6.08pm Oliver arrived. Was back home at 3pm on Sunday.
Just getting used to the lack of sleep and the fact that it takes ages to get anything done but loving every minute.
Wow, congratulations Clarkey! Is he your first?...that is very quick for a first baby.. :T
I had a wonderful water birth with my DS2 and am hoping to do it all again with this one. Water babies are the best :j0 -

xHi Septemberbaby, Hope you enjoy tomorrow, all will be fine I'm sure. Let us know how you get on xx
Thank you ladies!
Poppy's brother or sister is due on 17 December 2008 and we're over the moon :j. So glad that this morning is over and done with as I didn't sleep at all last night. My Mum has taken Poppy for the afternoon and I'm going to bed shortly for a rest.

September - you deserve an afternoon off!!
Congrats on getting your due date :rotfl:
Good news for me - I posted a while back that I was struggling a bit at work as they were making me do stupid hours and I'm over 32 weeks with SPD, so getting to me a little - anyway - I went to the doctors on monday and he wanted to sign me off!
I have had a word with work and am now working shorter hours (10 till 5) and doing some work from home (though this hasn't happened yet...) so fingers crossed!
At least I now know that if all starts to go wrong and work gets too bad I can stop :j Makes me feel better just knowing that!!
How is everyone else getting along at work? Don't know who works full time etc, but would be good to know how others are coping? Or whether I'm just a wimpBaby due on 7th August - eep! :j0 -
HelenD - you are most definitely not a wimp. I'm not sure what SPD is (is it the painful joints thing, or have I made that up).
You're over 32 weeks and you are down to shorter hours. 10-5. What on earth were you working before?!
I've already decided that I am giving up at work at 32weeks 1 day as I don't think I'll be able to carry on. I have a lot of travel involved in my day. I've saved 3 weeks of hols, so official maternity is 35 weeks.
Don't let anyone make you feel bad, sounds like you work for a horrible company.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I meant just 3 hours in hospital
All the time when you can still stay at home...that doesn't count (unless it's a home birth)
Infact, when I called in with the first to say I was coming into hospital, the receptionist said I wasn't in real labour as I could argue with her!0
