    Hi guys,
Just a quick Q regarding baby slings. I have seen babaslings in TK Maxx. Now I like the idea of a baby sling however my only worry is the development of their skeletal system/posture. I wouldn't use it exclusively just possibly whilst supermarket shopping/housework that kinf od thing. I notice also that there are other types of baby slings like the chicco makes, r they better than the babaslings?
Might also post this in the parents section if anyone else is interested in the response there.

Hi, according to my midwife, slings are good as they develop strong hip bones in babies.I always use them as I really cannot stand the lack of flexibility a buggy gives me-although i buy one, just hate using them.HTH.

    Hello everyone.

Haven't been on here for a few weeks - been very busy with sick kids and sick me.

Anyway, thought I'd share a baby bargain. Lloyds Chemists are currently selling a Tixylix baby monitor for just £9.99. :j

ok so here is the low down of the birth or what i can remember!
went in on the fourteenth. eneded up in a private room which was cool got lots of peace and quiet. had pretty boring afternoon pessary at 6pm then another at 12pm. next morning still nothing so got another pessary about 9am. contractions started by lunchtime. got a bouncy ball and some gas and ari about 2pm. they said i was 2cm dilated. love the gas and air. apparently i went totally crackers when i started it though and was laughing hysterically with tears tripping me!!
mum was worried about health and safety as i kept nearly toppling off the ball once i started the gas and air.
had a nice bath about 8pm. was feeling really painful at this stage and a lot of pressure. i slgged it out till about 11 when i asked to be checked and see if i was near ready. i was 3 cm dilated then but wanting some more drugs so i asked for the remyfentanil (sp?) she came back half an hour later and said the anaesthetist was very busy and wouldnt be able to get to me until at least 2am but since it was probably going to be at least 8 hours would i like some pethidine and my husband can go home. i said yes please.
an hour later feeling like i needed to push. she checked me and i w as 9 cm dilated so up to delivery i go! an hour later at 2.04 am eleanor popped out! the pethdine hardly had any timet o take affect!! i felt relaly bad too cause she was a bit stoned. i needed a couple of stitches and to be honest that hurt more than the actual giving birth!

very lucky my husband didnt go home or i would have been alone for the birth as we live 45 mins away from hospital!!

at home now settling in...had a lot of trouble with sore nipples form breast feeding and her not latching properly as i was so engorged. i tried expresing but couldnt get it out fast enough to keep up with her feeds so have now moved onto formula and am sitting with cabbage leaves in my bra!!!!

she is an angel and only wakes once in the night for a feed! so we get plenty of sleep at night!
hope everyone else is keeping ok!

Arr what a lovely story congratulations, glad you are all ok.

I went for my 20 wk scan last Monday (am now 22wks) and found out I'm having a girl, I have 2 boys and this will be our last so we're thrilled I just started crying my eyes out when she said girl as I just expected another boy.

Just to confirm I went to Thornbury private hospital to have a sexing scan to make sure, and yes it's a girl. I've bought so many pink things and dresses that I think I should cut my credit card up!

I have to go back to the hospital next week for a short scan as they couldn't see the heart properly.

She's kicking more and more now, it's such a lovely feeling. :j

    Hope everyone is okay:beer:

Hi ladies, my scan today (22 week 5 days) went ok. Nothing exciting though, the consultant was really quiet and didnt say much just that everything seemed normal. He checked the blood flow/circulation, growth etc and all is gonig well. Ive got another booked for begining of july (when we get back off hols) for another scan and then it wont be long until i actually give birth!

We did get another scan photo, but it isnt great as the position that baby was in! The consultant also wasnt too bothered about getting a decent pic, as obviously it wasnt his main concern. Still happy though-another one for the photo album! lol.

    Hope everyones ok!

The consultants can be a bit like that can't they?! I'm seeing mine on Tuesday and i'm dreading it! Last time I had a huge argument with hubby just before I went and ended up crying! It was so embarassing. I had a previous ectopic and found the beginning of pregnancy relaly stressfull because of this, and the hospital where I've got to give birth treated me REALLY badly so I told her all about that. Now I feel better about it, I think but I know she'll ask me again on Tuesday and I'd really rather forget it happened?!
The labour ward looked nice when I went to visit tho..and it's in a totally different place to the gyn. ward I was in before so hopefully that'll be ok. As long as I don't have to go back there..God it was SO GRIM.
Anyway, rant over. Hope everyone's getting on ok and coping with this hot weather, itchy bumps and aches and pains....
