But I worry that he is not competent, so don't know what to do!
That sounds like the midwife I came across during my induction (I had 6 as they changed shifts). Very sweet, but she really seemed to have no clue about anything. Thankfully I was too drugged up to really care and hubby didn't worry, as I was under doctor's care by this point. She was just there to write the notes really. But omg!
Nicifer_noonoo - you poor thing, I hope you find someone:wall:0 -
Hy RedFlame lol you sound excatly like me im excited about pregnancy and having a baby but so daunted about the birth and it really does seem unreal, when hes kicking it feels like a alien inside of me as ive never experienced anything like it (1st pregnancy)and i have to keep reminding myself that the "alien" is my lil boy, i keep having nightmares about it and funky dreams lol. Ive also got everything ready (apart from the tax credits/child benefit), sounds daft but everyday i go into the nursery cos it looks and feels so lovely - now that really does sound daft!
Ive had quite a rough pregnancy but it still feels really unreal (plus ive had the added bonus of just getting fat lol)
I like the name Erin theres been a surge in the name in my area (Wolverhampton - not to put you off by tellin that info tho) i was having Kacie-Mai if it was a girl but obvious as hes a he now im havin Cayden-Jay (CJ will be nickname) however Cayden seems to be getting popular in my area to so if i hear the name once more il be changing it to Corey (really want Cayden tho!):TDue Date: 7th June 2008 - Its a boy!! :T0 -

Thanks Agutka. But short of stopping a random stranger outside the hospital, I very much doubt I will. The sad thing is, there's nobody I know that I trust enough not to let me down. Start as you mean to go on, eh? Just me and my son, us against the world.0 -
i feel for you, it is not easy to find someone, i know how you feel i dont have freinds i can rely on. sending you hugs x0

Sorry for the late reply but havent been gettin emails when new messages have been added
and as im quite new to the site i couldnt get bk on here until i was playing just and found the threads i was subscribed to...
Scan went fine, had a picture with just his head and shoulders as hes to big now for a full scan, ive been told hes got very long legs, a big willy (sonagramer, my mum n dh all looked twice when she viewed that area lol) and his head and stomach are just above average! So he looks like hes going to be a big un, His umbilical cord was behind his head so it looked like he was blowing a big bubble on the scan.
Just read further down in the thread and noticed youve posted that yours is defo a boy and everythings healthy with him, Have you thought of any names adn what did you think of the site i showed you with the pram?
glad everythings ok and all the best x
thanks cookie08, finally went on site, looks good, seen a haouk make, are they any good. my mum is buying the travel system so i dont want to get on for much over £100.the names so far are, alex, james, cameron. got another scan in two weeks cant wait.0 -

I could lend you hubby, he slept through my 'labour' and when not asleep he spent loads of time having cigarettes!
As for actually being a single parent, I, and others I know, have 'experienced' it. Hubby was not there for us at the beginning. Still isn't I suppose (won't feed, won't change, huffs and puffs when I ask him to look after J for a minute), but I am used to it, and it gets soooo much easier after 3 months.
I know it's not at all the same, as I do have someone here. I have been saying for the past few months, I don't know how single parents do it. In my mind, you're about to turn into a superhero, I am in awe.:T

thanks cookie08, finally went on site, looks good, seen a haouk make, are they any good. my mum is buying the travel system so i dont want to get on for much over £100.
As far as i can tell they seem good, ive googled them and they do seem pretty good, my dads buying mine aswell so i didnt really want to go ott either, my dads ordering my pram over the next few weeks think it may be the beginning of May but not really sure yet (im due June), will let you know what delivery times and personal experience of it all as soon as its done and dusted
goodluck wit next scan x
Congratulations Toto x:TDue Date: 7th June 2008 - Its a boy!! :T0 -
hey Keelykat - I am not sure either, I felt some pops in my belly but I'm really not sure. Did you go the m/wife this week, how did it go?
Cookie 08 - nope not going to find out the sex at 20 wk scan, going to have to buy Yellow things. Although my sister has most of the kit from her youngest so don't think I will have to buy anything, just clear out some space in the spare room and maybe give it a dust!0 -

I love the way she waited til I'm 31 weeks gone to tell me  I know it's easy to find someone else, but I'm very isolated where I am and don't have many friends for various reasons. The thought of giving birth alone just doesn't appeal to me, but it looks like that's what I've got coming
How horrible for you to be let down by both these people....i don't know what your money situation's like, but have you considered hiring a doula or trainee doula (cheaper) to be your birth partner?
http://www.britishdoulas.co.uk/ is one website but no pricing included.0
