Congrats to all with new arrivals , all newly expectant ladies and a special hello to the first time Grandma to be who posted recently (1sttimer I think :undecided )
Not long for my daughter now , she's 35+1 :j It doesn't seem 2 minutes since she did the pregnancy tests , but it probably seems a lot longer for her!
I had to take her to the day care unit yesterday as she wasn't feeling well (her eyesight went funny) , but her bp , bloods etc were all fine thank goodness. The nurse thinks she may be overdoing it and her body is telling her to give up work. She's due to finish work 2 weeks today , but is only due to work a couple of days next week so may try and finish next Friday.
I'm interested to know of those who were working , when did you start your maternity leave? Is 37 weeks late to start ML or is that the norm nowadays? I know a colleague of my OH's worked right up until she went into labour and her waters actually broke whilst at work  Her workmates were trying to get her to go to hospital , but she just kept saying I must just finish this work! :rotfl:Same old same old since 20080 -
I started my ML at 36 weeks but had saved a weeks holiday so I actually finished at 35 weeks. Although I felt ok I was really tired and am glad I finished when I did. Have just been to midwives this morn and BP quite high again think i might have had a show and have to go to hospital this afternoon for monitoring - might not be too long now:eek:19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

Congrats on the births, all!
I can't quite get over the fact that I'm 34 weeks today. Antenatal class on Sunday, which I'm sure will bring it home to me FAR too clearly.
And tonight my legs are so restless that I can't see me getting any sleep.
Has anyone suffered badly with dry skin that's impossible to care for? I've some patches on my legs, which look and feel really sore, but don't bother me because I live in trousers, but I've also developed dry, red and swollen skin around my eyes. Someone at work asked if I'd been punched yesterday (not good) and everything seems to make it swell even more, from E45 to body butter to the hydrocortisone the doc's prescribed."outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. inside of a dog, it's too dark to read" - Groucho Marx0 -
I've got dry skin patches as well Cluuuuur, not sure how to solve the ones around your eyes, or indeed any of the others, as I've just been moisturising and ignoring them. I hope they clear up soon for you though.
Just to let you all know, it's probably posted lots of other places as well but thought I ought to make sure it was on this thread too! There's half off lots of baby stuff like sterilisers and what-have-you in Tesco until about mid-April as part of their er, baby thing (sorry brain a bit sleepy!). Hope that helps :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
hi all hope everyone is well. got a question/advice i wanted to get a travel nystem, i want a four wheller with plenty of storage space underneath. dont want to spend a fortune, can anybody give me ideas what they liked etc, going to boots and mothercare to have a look as well. ive got plenty of time only 19 +3 weeks. going for scan on tuesday, cant wait finding out sex, as test result should be back and that would be 100%. looking fat not preg not happy.
thanks0 -
have you had a look on just4baby.co.uk they have some great travel systems on there, im getting a Hauck Pooh Shopper Travel System its only £139.99 (its tigger and pooh, its for a boy as its a blue pram) and comes with car seat, raincover, footmuff and changing bag, parent tray for babys little things, detachable play tray and has a large shopping basket etc. Suitable from birth.
Also has free delivery if you spend over £75. From the reviews ive read about the site and the pram it seems great.
There is loads more travel systems on there that maybe more suitable for you after finding out the sex.
Goodluck on your scan on Tuesday, i also have another scan on Tuesday (this will be my 4th scan this time its a growth scan) and im going to be double checking that the baby is defo a boy lol before i get the pram!
Boots are offering a 3 for 2 on all huggies nappies and pants.:TDue Date: 7th June 2008 - Its a boy!! :T0
